Good thing...It's not a fun game to play. I am nearly a year trying to get a Sub. But I am a peasant, so this is expected lol
Lol good luck!
I have a lunch meeting at Capitol Grill over there and whenever I'm there I pop into Mayors.
Last time I was there (been months now) Rolex had almost nothing in the displays (same with Tudor honestly).
Nothing in stainless steel at least.

They have "exhibit only" pieces now...Ridiculous. The sales folks are very nice and more than willing to show the pieces but of course, nothing to sell. Clearly they are selling watches...just not to me lol

Lately I have been working with Kiefers near Lutz. Bob is the Rolex specialist there and is amazing.

Glad to finally have it after walking on one 6 months ago!

Wow, you got one! Congrats! It's been awhile since I've checked in here.

The GMT Master II (16750) is my unobtanium grail, and on paper I probably still prefer it, but I honestly feel the Tudor holds its own. And call me crazy but I 100% prefer it to the modern GMT masters. So much so that if given the choice and money was no object, I would pick the Tudor.

I must say pictures don't even do it justice.
In person it is fantastic. A nice mix of polished and brushed stainless.
The crystal has a nice subtle dome and I like that there is no cyclops on it.
I was worried about the size to be honest. Thought it would be a little thick.
And it is, but definitely not a deal breaker. I have pretty small wrists but it still sits nicely.
A little on the heavy side but I'm just used to slightly smaller watches. So I really have no complaints.
These things have a known issue with the date wheel. But supposedly they have been fixed as of mid-2020.
I suppose I'll keep an eye on it, but I'm not very worried about it. Has a nice 5 year warranty anyway lol.

I've been wearing mine pretty much daily for almost 4 years. Sadly mine was a 2018 and only had the 2 yr warranty. When I first got it the date wheel was advancing more than one date at a time. I read something was over-oiled from the factory and that it could be sent in or wait to see if it "breaks in" and goes away. Well within a few days my date issue went away. Was solid all this time and now it just came back a few weeks ago!!! Every night it advances 2 days instead of 1. Have to say I'm pretty annoyed and wishing I had gotten it corrected immediately when it was under warranty. I just couldn't bring myself to turn in a brand new watch to service and since it only lasted a few days I thought I was in the clear.

So now I'm wondering do I send it in and be without it for who knows how long (probably 4+ months), and possibly be slapped with a bill? Or do I just ignore it haha. I'd hate to be without it for so long.

It's my main watch so I'm a little biased but I fully agree with the looks. I love it just as much as the day I got it.

I'm still on the hunt for a bracelet. Hoping for an OEM Tudor 95740 (the early non-rivet 22mm that came with the ETA models). Feels impossible to find at a reasonable price.

The strap has been good to me though. I like how it dresses it down and it slides under the radar. I've only ever had 1 person recognize and ask me about it. No one else, even my family (parents etc) don't know about it lol.

Want to talk about my poor MK7? Lol.
That was the first time it was washed in probably 3 months.
I literally JUST took off my roof rack just so I could have the ability to put it through the new drive-thru by my house.
And you think that's bad...you should have seen all the dirt and grime under the feet of the racks, as they hadn't been off for 5 years!!!!

I'm in a good place when it comes to my car. I finally just don't give a shit what happens to it lol.
I have always been a very meticulous person when it comes to my car. And I still am to some degree.
But I no longer worry about new rock chips, little dings here and there.
The interior is spotless...but the outside? Not so much.
It lost its spot in the garage some time ago and that was the last straw for me...and for it too I suppose.

Lol! I am the same. I used to be so obsessed with keeping it pristine, but my 2016 now has dings, scrapes, dents. I wash it twice a year if I'm lucky. Used to be a diva about the drive through washes and now I don't give a fudge. But I have a baby and a 3 yr old so it's hard to give it the same attention it used to get. Like you, I still care... the dents still piss me off... but I don't let it consume me.

Bummer about the date wheel issue. Sadly, it is still always in the back of my mind.
Pretty much every morning when I go to the watch box it is the first thing I look at lol.
I'm honestly not sure how Tudor are handling the date wheel issue at this point. At least for those who are finally out of warranty.
I know they have never really acknowledged it, and anyone who had it "fixed" never really knew exactly what they did. Most suspected movement swaps. But some people had the issue pop up 1 or 2 more times.
Depending on when in 2018 you bought it, Tudor added an additional 1.5yrs to the original warranty. That was for watches bought July 1 2018 to Dec 31 2019. So there is a chance you may JUST be out of warranty.
I would just go talk to an AD and see what they have to say. I have seen some people say they got it fixed out of warranty, so It would not hurt to ask.
If you had to pay for a full service, I think you are looking at anywhere from $300-700 for the GMT. That is the range I've heard but never been able to confirm.
Also, turnaround time has been anywhere from 1-2 months.

As for the bracelet, check out these from Uncle Seiko

@vbrad26 Yeah I'm annoyed that it popped up this late. Oh well. I could live with 1-2 months away but even that is a long time to be without it. I need to check my purchase date. I think it might have been July 2018 haha. But someone on the Rolex/Tudor forums said they *might* waive costs even out of warranty since it's a known issue. We'll see. I'll report back if I get the motivation to get to an AD. Paying for a full service for something that's a defect would really hurt.

Thanks for the bracelet site, I have heard of Uncle Seiko but unfortunately for me I'm a bit of an OCD purist when it comes to that stuff and I think I would want an actual Tudor bracelet. Straps are different for some reason (don't mind 3rd party there). The other thing is I'd definitely want an Oyster style. I know there's another brand that does quality reproductions. It would probably require too much luck, but I think I'll bide my time and hope someone puts a genuine one up for a reasonable price and I happen to see it. I could do $500, but not a grand. 😬

Anyways, hope the date wheel doesn't come for you and enjoy your GMT, it's an awesome watch! Especially if you cross timezones — the jumping hour is so handy! Mine's been to Wisconsin, South Carolina, North Carolina, California, Colorado, Florida, New York, Illinois, and Hawaii so far! Sadly no international trips since the kiddos were born.

After getting an Apple watch a year or so ago, I've not worn any other watch.. the smart feature is like a part of my life now.. garage door openers, timer, text, weather, Spotify controller, etc etc. .. and I'm kind of old..

I know, I keep seeing my real watches on the winder and just need to sell the whole setup, I'll likely keep the Sinn, I got it in Frankfurt when I worked there and I can give it to my kid as a novelty. I'd still like to buy an A Lange or a VC for date nights and just as an investment in platinum, but that can wait. Although with the market like it is, maybe it's time to check things again.

I'd wait a little longer.
I keep seeing that grey market Rolex prices are starting to come down a bit, and have also heard that some of the GM dealers have cut back on buying.
