Glad to finally have it after walking on one 6 months ago!
Wow, you got one! Congrats! It's been awhile since I've checked in here.
The GMT Master II (16750) is my unobtanium grail, and on paper I probably still prefer it, but I honestly feel the Tudor holds its own. And call me crazy but I 100% prefer it to the modern GMT masters. So much so that if given the choice and money was no object, I would pick the Tudor.
I must say pictures don't even do it justice.
In person it is fantastic. A nice mix of polished and brushed stainless.
The crystal has a nice subtle dome and I like that there is no cyclops on it.
I was worried about the size to be honest. Thought it would be a little thick.
And it is, but definitely not a deal breaker. I have pretty small wrists but it still sits nicely.
A little on the heavy side but I'm just used to slightly smaller watches. So I really have no complaints.
These things have a known issue with the date wheel. But supposedly they have been fixed as of mid-2020.
I suppose I'll keep an eye on it, but I'm not very worried about it. Has a nice 5 year warranty anyway lol.
I've been wearing mine pretty much daily for almost 4 years. Sadly mine was a 2018 and only had the 2 yr warranty. When I first got it the date wheel was advancing more than one date at a time. I read something was over-oiled from the factory and that it could be sent in or wait to see if it "breaks in" and goes away. Well within a few days my date issue went away. Was solid all this time and now it just came back a few weeks ago!!! Every night it advances 2 days instead of 1. Have to say I'm pretty annoyed and wishing I had gotten it corrected immediately when it was under warranty. I just couldn't bring myself to turn in a brand new watch to service and since it only lasted a few days I thought I was in the clear.
So now I'm wondering do I send it in and be without it for who knows how long (probably 4+ months), and possibly be slapped with a bill? Or do I just ignore it haha. I'd hate to be without it for so long.
It's my main watch so I'm a little biased but I fully agree with the looks. I love it just as much as the day I got it.
I'm still on the hunt for a bracelet. Hoping for an OEM Tudor 95740 (the early non-rivet 22mm that came with the ETA models). Feels impossible to find at a reasonable price.
The strap has been good to me though. I like how it dresses it down and it slides under the radar. I've only ever had 1 person recognize and ask me about it. No one else, even my family (parents etc) don't know about it lol.
Want to talk about my poor MK7? Lol.
That was the first time it was washed in probably 3 months.
I literally JUST took off my roof rack just so I could have the ability to put it through the new drive-thru by my house.
And you think that's bad...you should have seen all the dirt and grime under the feet of the racks, as they hadn't been off for 5 years!!!!
I'm in a good place when it comes to my car. I finally just don't give a shit what happens to it lol.
I have always been a very meticulous person when it comes to my car. And I still am to some degree.
But I no longer worry about new rock chips, little dings here and there.
The interior is spotless...but the outside? Not so much.
It lost its spot in the garage some time ago and that was the last straw for me...and for it too I suppose.
Lol! I am the same. I used to be so obsessed with keeping it pristine, but my 2016 now has dings, scrapes, dents. I wash it twice a year if I'm lucky. Used to be a diva about the drive through washes and now I don't give a fudge. But I have a baby and a 3 yr old so it's hard to give it the same attention it used to get. Like you, I still care... the dents still piss me off... but I don't let it consume me.
