Where do these obscure cars come from? Now I want one as a family hauler.

Imean $400k isn't bad.

The must have for every Porsche collector.

The VW T3 B32 is one of the rarest Porsches ever built.
This is one of the 7 built VW T3 B32 with Porsche 911 3.2 Carrera engine and Porsche VIN number. The van has a top speed of 185 km/h.

This 1985 example in colour Perl mutter metallic, is specially made for the former CEO of Porsche AG Peter W. Schutz.
The Porsche workshop Welcherath near the Nurburgring was the production plant for this cars.
The reason for the van’s conception was because Porsche needed a fast enough support vehicle to keep pace during its Paris to Dakar rally campaign with the Porsche 959.

This VW T3 B32 has orginal german papers with as brand Porsche not Volkswagen

They labeled it a porsche but didn't even bother removing the vw emblem from the grill?

I know it's nitpicky but for 400k I feel like I can be nitpicky.

Although the history behind it is interesting

Porsche should have made more...

I've seen a few "conversions" of the early VW vans using Porsche engines & running gear as basically its the same rear platform.....usually with the 2.4lt & 2.7lt engines...

& then there are nutters:-

T1 body on widened/lengthened T3 chassis....& with a 993 GT3 3.6lt engine...523bhp & 558lbft...

You asking about the T3s I posted? Think the truck is RS4 v8 swapped not sure about the van but kinda sounds like they are both v8 powered, when they asked what engine he answered 1.6 suction diesel.
