Parts needed for oil change

Hi there,

I have a 2018 Golf TSI 1.8L auto. I want to do an oil change myself and was wondering if these are the two correct parts needed (in addition to the oil filter itself):

Looks good to me, the bottom link is for the filter media and O-ring so no need to add another filter unless you want to keep a spare on hand.

Of course you'll need oil but don't ask which kind around here unless you are wearing a lot of Nomex...

I used the same drain plug over again for 3 changes. I really don't think it's required to change it every time unless you get crazy taking it out. A wide flat screw driver works fine to unscrew it. I forget what size socket for the filter housing, 22mm? Adjustable wrench without teeth works fine. You need a jack and stands too. The pinch weld hockey puck things are nice to protect your lift point. Unless you are up on ramps of course. I think it's 6 quarts, at least a gti is 6. I change mine every 5k miles. 10k to me is nanners. Do it with the engine cold and have a rag ready when you take the filter out.

I agree with reusing the oil drain plug and the filter should come with the o-ring.
