how is your auto leveling working? Osrams do no have auto leveling in their lighting housing? Are you running the Osrams with 10 or 14 pin connectors?I run Osrams on my NA LP GTI since 2019 w/o a faulty AFS.
The Xenon-Osram- variant is made for the low VW Xenon headlight variant, while NA cars got the mid VW Xenon headlight variant. Mid variants control the auto leveling and corner swiveling via CANbus, while low variants control auto leveling via 4 wires between AFS control module and each headlight.
After downgrading to the low AFS module, adding of some extra wiring between each headlight and the AFS module, minor coding changes, my headlights show no faults. Auto leveling works fine too.
You are familiar with the company I was talking about? The 14-pin Osram Xenon variant does have auto leveling, but no cornering lights. So the headlight range is adjusted automatically depending on load or throttle. Here is how wired it:

According to the website of the German adapter company it works for mid and high OEM Xenon headlight cars.
- "Plug & Play solution for your Golf 7 pre-facelift with factory fitted AFS (cornering lights) LED daytime running lights for conversion to OSRAM LEDriving Xenon headlights
- also for DLA headlights (masked high beam)"
damn. I was hoping this would have been the trick. Tempted to get it but with shipping and tax would be a costly mistake especially if it a total failure.I don’t know the company. In one German forum one guy reported about his successful retrofit w/ the adapter. However it sounded like he was paid for it. Guess what, he received quite a bit BS responses and was never seen again. I can’t speak for the product.
In 2019 I had to provide a VIN number of a car that came w/ low Xenons from the factory to be able to order a set of Osrams! Came up w/ the downgrade idea. Actually added a self made adapter at the headlights, the additional 8 wires go through a grommet at the fire wall. The low AFS module is „velcroed“ to the factory AFS module. If I ever feel like I have to remove the Osrams all it takes is cut the added wires at the fire wall, pull both ends out, remove the AFS module.
I put 14 mil PPF on mine when new 4 1/2 years ago. Zero lens delamination since, but the car spends very little time in the sun...Just got mine installed. I'm going to be out of warranty after the ~2 yrs it seems to take for these to start peeling. Would some sort of coating be able to ward off this fate?
Glad to hear things worked out. Both of my 23-month old Osrams are doing the same thing yours were. On the driver's headlight, the peeling is actually on the lens rather than just the top.Well I’ll be damned osram came through and delivered a new set of headlights to me under warranty … received today. It’s been a journey. Just wanted to give credit where it’s due. Specifically their instagram team which reached out to their email department for me to get the ball rolling, even after emailing the address someone posted above. Great company.
Thanks for confirming, good to know for those who may run into this in the future.Well I’ll be damned osram came through and delivered a new set of headlights to me under warranty … received today. I emailed first, didn't really get an acknowledgment except an automated response, then I contacted them directly on instagram who then contacted someone in the correct department for me.Glad to hear things worked out. Did you message them in instagram, or comment on a post of theirs?
Got a blow off response from their instagram team. They just told me to email automotive-service@osram.com.I emailed first, didn't really get an acknowledgment except an automated response, then I contacted them directly on instagram who then contacted someone in the correct department for me.
