fairly certain that was a spammer based on the signature. But user asked if OS could be used on top of/in conjunction with other solutions, and as always Diggs is correct. Most tuners will lock/encrypt ECU contents (and in some cases it's an absolute nightmare to try to get back to stock, e.g. everything Alientech ever touches)

speaking of, I've got an SL1 dongle on the way  so now I can join the cool kids. Just need to fork over for ECUEdit

tunerpro is free and works well enough....
Thanks, I couldn't quite remember what the other one I was missing was. Very excited to start down the rabbit hole, the guides are well written and give a pretty good idea of cooking up your first tune. And I'm particularly excited about fixing the rev hang and taking care of some other nagging things that I can't do on Cobb now.

Would it be possible to get an invite to the discord for MK7 Open Source? I’m trying to figure a few things out and I’m having some trouble.

quick question here, is there a quick way to change the target coolant temperature on the stock ECU map easily using these open source software?
I've been hoping to make the car run cooler as my oil temperature has been hovering on the higher side between 109-114C (228-237F) for normal daily drive.
I've done things like flushing the coolant, new thermostat waterpump, new oil cooler but it's still running like that.

It's a two second process, you just lower numbers on a target cylinder head temperature table and you're good to go. Like, upsettingly easy.

As already mentioned, very easy and simple. Here's a stock Golf R table to give some insight into what's going on. It targets a higher coolant temp at low rpm and low load (help warmup I suppose). I didn't go crazy with mine, I just basically set the 225 cells to 212 or whatever.

I'm just getting started with learning about tuning on this platform and trying to find resources. Could I please get an invite to this discord as well? Thank you!

Here is my in-car setup:
