I never understood feeler posts…you’re either selling or you’re not! Yet here I am posting a feeler, and I get it now. I’m being tempted into the pickup truck world for various reasons and if the deal is right I might let go of my GTI.
Hard to find S model but with power package and lighting package. I wanted the PP and LP but really didn’t want to give up plaid seats. It wasn’t easy to find this spec as most move up to an SE.
Anyway, the first owner logged big highway commuting miles. I bought it at 66K miles around 1-1/2 years ago. In the past year I’ve done the following:
- Fifteen52 Holeshot RSR wheels with Falken FK510’s (7K miles)
- Bilstein B8 shocks/struts with H&R OE sport springs
- OEM shock/strut mounts and rear sway bar end links
- H&R 24 mm rear sway bar
- Stoptech rotors, Centric ceramic pads, Pentosin fluid
- ECS rear muffler delete
- BFI shift knob
Known flaws:
- I’ve been getting a lighting error on the right headlight. I’m assuming the motor is out
- Very light curb rash on 2 wheels
- while the paint is a 6.5 or 7 out of 10, the front bumper isn’t the best.
- the last owner was backed into in a parking lot. Front bumper and right headlight were replaced.
the car would include:
- Original suitcase muffler
- OEM roof rack
- JB1 piggyback. I ran this for a couple hundred miles and decided I didn’t need a speeding ticket.
- Various fluids i would no longer need
All in all, the car is super sorted and very dependable. Cold air, hot heat, I’d drive it across country tomorrow blah blah blah. In all seriousness I’ve taken care not to thrash it. No launches ever and the few times I’ve hit the Dragon and other great roads around here I’ve not abused it. I’m a straight shooter, if anyone wants a reference, hit up Riceburner. I sold him my last GTI sight unseen and he was not disappointed.
price? I really don’t know. KBB etc show high 16’s which sounds great. Maybe $16K? Or trade for a mid size 4x4? Let me know your thoughts if interested. I can send dozens more detailed photos if needed.
