Oil temps

In the winter my oil temp never really went over 207 (degrees F) :D

Lately it's been in the mid to upper 40's and the last 2 days I noticed 221-225, I think even 230 for a bit. I would expect a bit of rise in oil temps when the air temperature has gone up from 10 degrees to 45 degrees.

But I don't know if this is in the ball park for the car under these ambient temperatures. Can anyone chime in an say what temps they see for their local conditions?

Only a false prophet would use ferenheit :)

I'm usually just over 100 C.

I drive at sea level in relatively mild temperatures and humid conditions.

With the APR intake, under normal driving my Oil temp stays around the 210-215f range in hot 80+ weather(FL). IATs are usually around 85-95f.

If I drive the car hard, both the IATs and Oil temp will go up by about 10-15 degrees f.

Thx Peter. Seems like it's good. But 120 degrees Celcius??? Do you have an aftermarket intercooler? Was the car still doing OK at that oil temp?

Yes, no problem. I have the org. setup, no aftermarket intercooler. 120 C shouldn't be any problem.

225 F for me too in summer. Only went over that once and that's because I was letting it idle for a long time.

I hit 232 f today. It was fairly warm out relative to recent weather. High 50s. I had been driving kinda hard, but not really pressing it.

:D

I grew up using C, but got so used to F that I almost find it easier. So I'm still a bit below 100 C. I guess once the hotter weather sets in I'll see higher temps, but if 120 C is no problem, I guess I'm OK. I'm a long way away from that.

I would not want the oil to be below 100C, frankly. Anywhere between 100-120 is normal and what's more important is the engine being consistent about operating temps. Too many variables to compare one car to another online.
