Oil temp sensors and heater pump errors

Does anyone know if there are 2 separate sensors for oil temperature ? I have oil temp sensor errors and apparently there are 2 different readings on the tester. I replaced the one in the slump (3F907660E) but there are still errors which can't be cleared, so what about the second sensor ? Can anyone say where it is and what part number ?

The errors are:

15170 - Engine Oil Temp. Sensor (G8)
P0198 00 [039] - Signal too High

15171 - Engine Oil Temp. Sensor (G8)
P0196 00 [039] - Implausible Signal

I cannot find (G8) on the wiring diagrams for the MK7 Golf..or in the self study guides...& the engine temp sensor is the combined temp/level sensor in the sump....

What version of VCDS are you using?

Thanks, in the mean time I found out as well that there is only one sensor for temps, the one in the oil pan which I replaced (3F907660E). The VCDS belonged to a mechanic and was recent (19.6.2.0), but I have also been told that sometimes it reports false/inaccurate errors which have to be checked by other means/testers.

So I'll post a new thread with some logs later on :)

What is the sensor right below the oil filter? Could that be it? Not entirely sure... But curious.

depends on engine..but usually oil pressure...

Well I have no oil pressure warnings, so that doesn't concern me :)

Also for the other thread, the guy who did the logs is a different guy from the mechanic with the diagnostic for this sensor ;)

Another error I have, which might go away sometimes but comes back, is:

23651 - Heater Support Pump
P16C6 00 [040] - Running Dry

23652 - Heater support pump
P16C7 00 [032] - locked

Does anyone know what it means and how serious this is ?
