Went to buy oil and wanted the same stuff I used last time, Motul 8100 X-cess 502 00/505 00, but they didn’t have any. Salesman pointed me to Motul 8100 X-clean 505/505.01. He said they higher number means a better version of the oil. I bought it, but was a little skeptical. After some googling it looks like the 505 oil is made for Diesel engines? I am ok to run this oil, or should I return it and find some 502? Both are 5W-40…it’s for a Mk7 GTI.

Not the right approval. X Clean 5W30 504 is reverse compatible with 502.
