I miss the days where you could toss Rotella T6 in anything...
Amen to that. Ran it for 170k miles in my Mazdaspeed

My MKV loved T6.I miss the days where you could toss Rotella T6 in anything...
No reason to use Rotella over a Euro 40 grade, zero. Why use an inferior product? I've never gotten the Brotella thing in modern gassers when the Euro stuff is so much better with approvals like Porsche A40...litterally a test that simulates track beating.I miss the days where you could toss Rotella T6 in anything...
In Liquimoly's own words, Leichtlauf is the better of the two. But neither is anything special compared to the cheaper 5w40 options (Castrol, M1, Pennzoil, etc.)
I wouldn't use any of them again, they're opaque with their spec sheets, my first motor always had consumption issues with Leichtlauf (until it blew up), and you can get other mid-tier options at walmart for $5/qt.
Correct. Amsoil HPL Redline are all like this.So in the Molygen Product Page, where they say that they recommend this oil with engines that require the specifications, etc.. they haven't actually received the spec approvals...?

What they meant is that they miss the days when they can use any oil they wanted as long as it met the weight requirement and that it's conventional or synthetic. Nowadays, Euro vehicles has all these crazy specs like VW502 or VW 508 or whatever whereas with the Japanese, Korean, and American automakers, they just need 0W8 or 0W16 or whatever as long as it meets ILSAC or is API certified. No reason to use Rotella over a Euro 40 grade, zero. Similar results to mine. Stays in grade. Only one. I'm running mine all year/8k mi/8 track days. The best.
Oh there is a great reason to use Rotella, everything worked well with it: My BMW 3 series, Crotch Rocket, Lawn Mower, door hinges, etcNo reason to use Rotella over a Euro 40 grade, zero. Define "works well with it" vs. any other oils.Oh there is a great reason to use Rotella, everything worked well with it: My BMW 3 series, Crotch Rocket, Lawn Mower, door hinges, etc
It's not really crazy. The approvals are nice, they make it easy to know/understand which oil to use and what specifications/tests were done and what they mean for your engine vs. any ol' SAE grade of XYZ brand. It's not like these Euro oils with approvals are hard to find or get. What they meant is that they miss the days when they can use any oil they wanted as long as it met the weight requirement and that it's conventional or synthetic. I get it and it's frustrating being limited to only a certain type of oil. For 99% of the people, regular synthetic oil is good enough as most people are just sitting in bumper to bumper traffic if they live in a large city like myself.
The car didn't blow up, this oil is the best!Define "works well with it" vs. any other oils.
Yep.The car didn't blow up, this oil is the best!
The reality is people shouldn't have an opinion unless they regularly send their oil in for an analysis.

that's really impressive. 1.5ppm Fe per 1k is no joke. On par or better than 300V in some ways.
