Got a 1:43.1 at Laguna Seca yesterday, I think that might be the Mk7 record, beating @Will_ 's previous record:

Track name: Laguna Seca
Track location: Salinas, CA
Lap time: 1:43.1
Year/Model: 2015 Golf
Estimated total vehicle weight with driver: 3000 lbs
Estimated WHP: 360
Fuel: E85
Tire size and model: 235/40R18 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2
Ambient Temperature: 75F

Indeed, great lap! I’m still claiming the pre-repave record though 😁

Figured i'd share this here since we all love seeing lap vids. At our 3 day event at WGI this year, I got the pleasure of taking out a 991.1 GT3RS for two sessions. Car bone stock with cup 2's. Truly an amazing car. I wanted to push it hard so bad but it wasnt my 200k car! Ran a 2:09 though.

Ran my first Laguna Seca event during the winter holiday break, awesome track. What suspension do you have and opinion?

Yea, definitely my favorite track I've driven. I've got BC's which are 7 or 8 years old at this point, imo pretty good for the price, but there are plenty of opinions of BC's.

Updated sheet after Dec TSCC event. Here's my current PR at VIR (full) in my Sportwagen. Picked up a Garmin Catalyst for Christmas so I am hopeful I can shave a few more seconds this year (safely of course). 2:18:26. Current world record for this car is about a 2:13 (with less power) I believe (he's around here, can't recall his username) so it's possible with MOARDRIVERMOD! My last lap of the last session showed I was approaching a min. faster than this lap as I went around Oak Tree so 2:17 and change should have been doable but that lap was the last one/checkered so never finished it :(

Freshly repaved for the first time in 20+ years, track was smooth but I'd say a little less grip overall compared to last year. Car felt good but tires are definitely heat cycling out at this point (16 DE days), new Neuspeed BBK and IS3500 are insane.

Is it me or were a lot of entries removed/deleted? I've previously submitted and none are there anymore... but new PB at VIR this past weekend:

IS20/IC/DP/tune
Springs, shocks, sway bars, camber plates and camber bushings
PP brakes w/ DS3.12/DS1.11 pads and front 340mm Girodiscs
Still running on last year's 245/40R17 Kumho V730s. They last for friggin ever and don't seem to have fallen off pace too much. Probably 14-16ish days on track at this point?

VIR looks awesome. Wish I was closer to either east or west coast. Seems very few VW's track in Texas

1:54.0 PB, 1:53.7 theoretical.

Definitely moving up to the advanced group next time to hopefully STAY in the 53’s. Traffic held me up and hence the inconsistency per session. Can’t wait to get back out to Thompson. Because last year I ran 1:24 on bald falken 615+’s and a broken ball joint. Low 22’s next!!

Notes on setup (turbo, suspension setup, rain, frightened, etc.): MCS 2WNR, 500#F/600#R Eibach springs, Ground Control camber plates, Superpro FCA, Hotchkis F&RSBs, Stoptech ST-60, Pagid yellows, RS3 ducts, stock rear calipers rear w/ G-Loc R10, RBF600, WaveTrac, IS20, APR DP, EQT stg 2.

Second time at Nelson's Ledges. Beat my previous best by 3+ seconds! This was my first timeout on the new coil overs, so lots of figuring out how to drive with the different suspension. Harry's Timer says best virtual lap is 1:17:70 so I have some consistency to find. Such a fast, little track. Really takes some throttle commitment to put down a good lap. Super fun!
