Had this same thought as well; center of the device would be where you’d see the most benefit. Maybe it helps if it keeps air moving around/within the cubby ambiently as well? As others have pointed out, could also function in reverse to draw warm air out of the cubby.

Its probably taking air from the cubby and exhausting it out, The area under the cubby is pretty warm most of the time so that seems like a bad place to draw air from.

Also a valid line of thinking. Efficacy still remains a question for me... is the issue that the ambient temperature around the device is too hot or that the device itself is getting hot and retaining the heat?

I guess there's no point continuing to speculate since so many are going to try it and find out soon enough :). Fingers crossed that whatever the fan and vent are doing makes a difference.

I think our only problem is how to customize the rubber mat so it works well with the cooling system.

Seems like if only the area where the intake is cut, The phone could easily block it, Probably a larger piece has to come out.

Anyone ask one of the other sellers if they have stock? I suppose the one seller said that there is no stock in China but curious if that is true.
