Well, I could send you one of my mats. I've sent @bobloblawGTI one and I'm supposed to get three more from the UK. Although, it sounds like a number of European countries aren't sending anything under $800 to the US until there's some clarity in these ridiculous tariffs. . . Anyway, I do think that the fan does help with heat as it's drawing air out of the cubby. I suspect the grooves in the Atlas 105D mat are specifically there to draw air across the phone, and not the charger. At least that seems to be the intent of the design. Let me know, and I can send one out to you.

EDIT: I would definitely cut holes. Even if you have cardboard under that, I would think you would be deadheading the fan in the charger and just building heat.

@Kushdaiin, thank you very much for the offer, very friendly! Just now I ordered a mat from Ali.

Lets start with that! Maybe I can make a Frankenstein similar as yours from it. Maybe I come back to the offer! 😉

@Meesters I have a 6VA charger arriving from Germany tomorrow! Ended up finding one on eBay for a reasonable price that would still ship to the U.S.

I also recommend holes or ventilation through the mat of some kind. As of now I'm running a hacked up one with the cardboard channel under it. No holes for the vents directly (using the other mat that @Kushdaiin generously sent me) but rather the center square with the logo on it cut and sitting directly on the charger while the rest of the mat is propped up with a cardboard cutout. For the new charger I'm thinking it might be valuable to combine them and make a cutout for the air vent as well? That way air still directly contacts the phone and, since the phone is laying directly over the holes, will still redirect air under the rest of the mat? Theoretically, at least. Curious to hear what you all think would be best.

I would try that setup first to see how it functions. However, I found that, at least for my iphone, it did much better with less of a gap between it and the charger (i.e., no cardboard) and the holes in the mat cut out around the charger fan inlet.

I have/had the same setup as @bobloblawGTI. But indeed, it seems this is too thick, and therefore charging isn't working properly.

That's why I've now ordered that Golf 8 mat with ventilation tunnels to try something out.

Thanks again for your generosity @Kushdaiin, but I have no problem with you donating that mat to @Cuzoe, I can easily order a new one myself in the region.

That mat (5H2863330C) looks like it'll work as well . . . huh.

3 years later I finally got my wireless charger installed over the weekend, but ran into one slight snag. I wired in the BCM wire, popping out the KESSY wire and inserting that into splitter and then the output of that into the same pin 14 on the BCM, it works fine without the charger plugged in, but as soon as I plug the charger in, KESSY stops working. Is there a solution for that?

I pull it apart again and recheck, but I would assume it is correct at the splitter side as it does work when I disconnect the wiring connector from the charger..
But I will recheck the charger wiring as well, I only modified the power in on that connector... that assume the maker of the harness actually did it correctly :D
