i'm afraid i got the same issue. i got GW version AR / 5502 but can't talk to it either. 3P0035502A
While I was hoping, I already feared that, to bad..

Did anyone already try the 5GC version from ali express?
You mean 5GC, or do you mean 5CG? I have last one, it works perfectly, although it needs some modification in the cubby, read previous posts in this topic. Otherwise it does not work properly.

Stupid question, but maybe it works without CAN connection?
I expect(ed) it does not, although I tested it, but it didn't. (As you probably for sure know) Devices wake up through CAN or T15, since it has no T15, it wakes probably up through CAN, otherwise it would always pull electricity in full working condition, and charging would be always available (right?).

Well perhaps thats what the kessy wire does.

It's interesting... as there are some units (not the 3P0, I think) that support the phone as a key function but I'm not sure if the same KESSY line is used for that. But... my car does not have KESSY so I wired to the BCM directly (on the same wire that would also go to the KESSY module). I seem to recall somewhere in this thread someone wanted (or tried) to install without the BCM line and it did not work.

Blah blah blah, has anyone tried the wireless charger with the car locked and/or can bus asleep? Charger is on T30 so maybe safe to assume it will not charge a phone in that situation.

the bcm wire is the wake up wire in the 5NA setting, I can only assume it will do the same for the 3P0, in addition to the canbus line.

I guess we hope(d) the 3P0 could use the wake-up line only, but no luck thus far. I will continue to look for a scan that has module DE and our "old" 3Q0 gateway, but nothing yet... may not exist.

This 2024 Audi RS3 scan has module DE...
https://forums.ross-tech.com/index.php?threads/44453/

Part number is 4N0035502B looking that up do on eBay that have the connector attached. The 6-pin and the antenna connector are in a different position relative to the 3PO. But 1-4 are populated, and based on the colors look like power, can, can, ground.

Of course it has the 5WA gateway. In my quick googling I can't find anything though I seem to remember reading that these gateways are a different speed on the can bus. Anybody got any input on that?
I saw that, it does use a 5WA gateway although this module seems to be on the plane-jane convenience bus. If a 4N0 popped up for very cheap I would certainly try connecting just to see what happens, but the connectors are in different places so installing would be a problem.

I played with wiring, since I have lying around a 5NA, what I got very cheap. And I can confirm that 5NA charger wakes up through pin 2 and no others. I have tested it on the bench, where I don't have a spare MIB unit available. As soon as some voltage comes to pin 2 it starts charging, when 12V and Ground attached to pin 1 and 4 of course, nothing else needed. So it wakes up through MIB, as some sort of T15.

Then pin 3 is connected to MIB for some for me unknown Bluetooth connection?

And pin 5 is connected to BCM T73c /14, but so far it didn't affect anything, connected or not connected, ignition on or not (on bench), so not sure what it does..

For 3P0 I took the gamble and did same sort of test, but nothing.

Edit:

Just came back home and did some additional test. I turned car off, locked the doors and waited until the car was completely a sleep. At this moment the phone didn't charge. When starting MIB by pushing on power button on the screen, MIB started up and the phone started charging.

I vaguely recall from an earlier post that the BCM T73c / 14 is what ultimately tells the MIB that the wireless charger is installed and will cause the pop-up message of "wireless charging" on the MIB screen. I could be wrong though. Not sure if it contributes to the Qi charging logo in the MIB2.5 or not though.

Oh and I want to also applaud @Meesters for recognizing the issues surrounding the Ali-fan chargers. I haven't had a chance to try this out but I anticipate it fixing the issues for me as well.

So, meanwhile the new rubber inlay mat has arrived. And,,, it is same as old one 😅. So with the recessed part.. Although I searched for "d" variant, clicked on "d" variant, and ordered one with a photo of a "d" variant, an "f" variant arrived.. Turned out that in the description was mentioned that it is "f" variant, so again, always make sure you check everything from top to bottom (at least I give my self the advice). Luckily it was just a few euro, and it is shiny brand new.

But it gave the opportunity to experiment a little more with the airflow in the cubby, since I now do have a spare which is already a bit worn out.

I figured, cold air must be blown from air vent al over the back of the phone, but I also wanted to keep the design from the inlay in tact. So I did the following:

I cut out the center piece from the rubber inlay with the QI logo, and I made a new cardboard inlay. This time I only cut out a hole from the air vent to the QI cut-out and put the rubber piece inside.

I did cut roughly 1,5mm of of the right side from the rubber center piece to create a little gap on that side where air may flow through when stacking everything up.Like below
1000005320.jpg

And from the top
1000005317.jpg

Although a bit roughly cut, I'm quite happy with the looks.

I will test it for a while, and when satisfied, I will ask my Mothers friend to copy this concept with the new inlay, since I'm not to good with crafting this kind of stuff, and he is a professional upholsterer. Maybe some tweaks here and there, and use some different material than cardboard, glue it together and maybe seal the edges.

Whish you all a great day!

@Meesters you’re a genius. Worked the first time. And thank you for the idea of venting out the rear of the cubby. It’s nice and discreet. I had a few unhacked anti slip mats. One recessed and one flat. Honestly, both work just about the same. Here’s my setup. Taped an airfoil-like piece in the middle to maybe help the air go out. Shoebox or thinner cardboard seems to work the best.

Could be interesting, but isn't the material not a litlle hard? That could cause rattling from phone? Also it is quite hard to measure up dimensions for my opinion, because the cubby and the inlay are anything but rectangular. And it must be perfect then.

Maybe you are good with this kind of stuff, and know exactly how to do it, but I don't see how to get it done and being still affordable.

If any success, I'm completely interested of course!
