Noisy Tyres GTI - Replacement?

mukuljuria

Ready to race!
As the title suggests, the Bridgestone Potenza's S001 fitted on my GTI are very noisy and of course hard (sidewall?)

In Dubai we have painted lines on the road when approaching speed bumps (example) which is extremely noisy and bouncy as well.

I am looking to replace the stock potenzas as even my previous MK6 GTI had bridgestone potenzas as standard which I hated.

I've seen other GTI's around which have the Dunlop Sport maxx installed on them but after browsing the forum, these seem rather hated.

Any opinions on what tyres are quieter, not as jumpy or noisy when driving over imperfections and that still handle well?

Thanks in advance

Surprising! I thought all Nabooda GTI's came standard with the contis ! You should write up to nabooda!

Its the factory that puts the tires and all over the forum are various gtis with many different tyres on delivery. Some get lucky and get good tires, some don't and get stuck with tyres like potenzas.

Did you get contis with yours? which ones? how are they if you dont mind.

I have got the Potenzas as well!! Very noisy at times!!

So far i've only seen gtis with dunlops and potenzas. I remember my test drive of the gti being pretty quiet and a recent pop down to nabooda showed that they were dunlops on the test car. These bridgestones are rated poorly for noise but great for wear. Whereas the dunlops are great for low noise but horrible in terms of wear.

I really don't care about wear as I prefer a quieter ride!

Goodyears are on my mums audi and brothers bmw and they are extremely quiet!

I will be getting the goodyear f1 next. Its right in the middle in terms of wear (middle as in between potenza and dunlop) and its as quiet as the dunlop but more comfortable (not jarring on the back as the potenzas) and great on fuel economy too.

Didn't realise they still made the Conti 2's since they brought out a Conti 3 and then the current Conti 5 Sport.

This thread has probably gone stale a bit, but I was hoping you have some feedback on which tyres you eventually went for. I have the same complaints on Bridgestone Potenzas on my MK7 GTI and they are due for a change soon.
