They can be still NOT set right. If you don't know that then maybe it's time to go back to a bike. Have you even read your manual? The lights can be adjusted both up/down and sideways by the 'adjustment' screws.
Can I suggest the next time you try to be smart that you actually know what your talking about. It makes people seem less dumb!
I agree. I helps to keep the costs down. Golf R is in a sweet spot between the GTI and the S3 (at least in US).
There are so many other things to care about than the lights: Leather seats, dual climate AC, low cabin noise in low revs.
It's a matter of personal choice. In a survey, I was asked: "What makes Audi special over its competitors?"
One of the options was "because LEDs are standard".
Not my choice but I understand that some might choose that.

Chill, cupcake. The manual says to take it to your dealer. Have YOU even read your manual? Oh, you don't even have a Golf R? Oh.
Owner's Manual said:
For vehicles equipped with HID (Xenon) headlights:
The headlights are equipped with an automatic leveling feature that automatically adjusts the headlight range to the vehicle loading condition once the low beams are switched on. -> /!\
WARNING
If the automatic leveling feature of the headlights does not work properly or at all, the headlights could blind and distract other drivers. This can lead to a crash and serious personal injuries.
* Have headlight range adjustment checked immediately by an authorized Volkswagen dealer or an authorized Volkswagen Service Facility.
Now, some quick googling tells me that there is indeed a screw, as you have pointed out; however, to adjust properly you must use VCDS after to relearn the proper headlight orientation by calibrating the car on a level surface. The procedure is on Ross Tech's website and is in these links. Just using the headlight adjuster screws by themselves risks damaging the auto adjustment motors.

Ya they MIGHT Need adjusting but then again they might not. My golf isn't even 3 months old and I've been flashed a few times but usually as I was cresting a hill. My Infiniti has xenons and I've had the same thing happen and every year I get it inspected at a shop where they check the headlight adjustment, but then again they might all be uneducated also....
