Hey all, just picked up my first ever VW (a Mk7.5 GTI Rabbit) and discovered that the door puddle lights are inactive. (I'm talking about the red reflectors in the interior door panels that should shine light onto the ground.) Can these be activated thru car settings? Assuming there's bulbs in there.

There's no lights in there, or wiring of any kind; it's just a piece of red plastic. There's kits you can get online to hook them up like how you describe but there's nothing in there stock unfortunately.

Dang it! I guess I was spoiled by my last car. Looks like I’ll be placing an order with DeAutoLED, unless you guys recommend another source.

You don't get any. Unfortunately the rear doors are difficult (it can & has been done) to add lights to as they do not have their own controllers as they "piggy-back" off the front door controllers (Audi's get door controllers in rear doors).

There is a bit of coding required, but you have a GTI you won't need to do that as all you are doing is breaking into the existing wiring for the door sill (kick plate) light strips...(if you have them)

I wrote the "how to guide" for fitting the front door controllers here:-...a bit long & detailed I know!

if you want to do it nice, you can get oem lights and wiring from vw for the arteon and it hooks up with some vcds/obd11 coding.

I'm going this route... just need a decent discount or sale, hoping for a 30% off accessories code from the dealer maybe...

PN 000052120F - New style VW logo, very nice/sharp and should last. I'm sure there's an R part number somewhere out there, but I don't have it.

Do you happen to have a part number for the old logo? I would love OEM but would prefer the old logo or even better the R logo.

BTW here is the part # you posted for $135
