Studs seemed cool until I worked on one of my parent's Nissan Pathfinders with them and it made installing the wheels 10x more annoying. I've considered studs for the GTI but only in the context of getting spacers. otherwise I love my wheel bolts haha

100% stud here........I mean stud kit ;)

I love being able to not have to balance wheel on hub or deal with a hanger, especially on wheel rotations. Def a personal preference

At first I bought 2 of those wheel hanger things, but it was so annoying to have to screw them in and back out for every wheel. Bought the stud conversion and have been much happier. Plus dealing with spacers is much easier as well.

the only caveats i have from doing 2 or 3 stud conversions: use more loctite and get the studs in tighter than the spec; i had cleaned the threads well prior to install and had a few studs back out on me before which was concerning.

also most open ended lugs that come in the kits ( i know i got a vwr kit once, forget the other ones), the anodized finish gets messed up quick even being careful

I replaced my vwr lug nuts with titanium floating lugs from a small batch machinist on ebay.
