Is this self tuning possible only on mk7 platform?
I believe there are other platforms out there, I haven't looked into earlier stuff. I know back in the day Eurodyne had a tuning suite, though I've never used it. The only experience I have is with Simos 18 stuff, I'm not sure what the mk6 uses.

Alright, couple of updates because it's been a while.

Got this bad boy, I've wanted one for a while but I'm trying to have less colors in the bay. Found black zhongzhong caps, immediately ordered one because it was cheap and I hate looking for funnels all the time. I rarely use washer fluid but two birds one stone and all that.

And of course, Blipshift comes in clutch with an extra-relevant sticker. I don't really love stickers for this car (trying to keep it low-key) but there's a very small number of them that I think are worthwhile. This was one of them.

And most recently, I filled a void in my heart hatch that's been present for a long time. $28 at the VW dealer, but it makes me pleased to not see a gap there anymore.

Also sold my AP to a local guy, he was able to install it without any issues so that's a relief. I don't have good luck with uninstalling tuning devices, but it seems Cobb has it down pretty well.

Looking for how I can manipulate finances to afford MPI/flex, but I think 2867 is gonna be the move.

I kept waffling BUT it sounds like it'll be a safer bet where I can achieve my goals with plenty of headroom and still maintain reliability, versus on an IS38 I'd be right up on the limitations of the turbo and no guarantees I'd actually make the numbers I want.

the 2860 disco potato was always the fav in the b5 passat community, assume the 2867 will spool mid to upper 3k rpm range

This is where I am at. With the turbo I am still torn between Mamba and Vortex. I am very curious to see what kind of power you make. What size injectors for the MPI? I'm kind of on the 1300cc side of things to allow headroom, but Unitronic has this really nice kit with 980cc injectors. I am thinking those will be adequate for either turbo.

I wasn't planning on going BIG injectors, IIRC I was seeing kits as small as 930s. TBH my goal is 400/400 if not higher, which should be fairly easy to do. On 93 and IS20 I've seen around 400lb-ft so I don't think it's a long way off. It might wind up being 980s though because I put my faith in @Diggs24

I have the PR MPI kit with 925cc injectors. On full E85 the RS3 LPFP isn't breaking a sweat. Definitely don't need the big boy injectors on the smaller hybrid turbos.

Can post dyno numbers tomorrow if inquiring minds need to know what that nets you on a standard Vortex.
This sounds a lot like the setup I had in mind. Full E, RS3 LPFP, and something in the 925-930 range. Legit pump or Zhongzhong? I know there's been some concern about the latter versus the former, but I think with the 2867 I'll be alright
