Vehicle Application Information:

* VW Golf Mk7 (incl. GTI & R)
* Audi A3 8V
* Audi S3 8V
* SEAT Leon Mk3
* Skoda Octavia Mk3

Alloy Arm with DuroBall Rear Bushing with built in Caster and Camber Change- Exclusive to SuperPro:

* 1.5 to 2 Degrees Positive Caster Change per Side
* Up to 0.5 Degrees Negative Camber Change
* Alloy Lower Control Arm Assemblies eliminate unwanted flex

All Mk.VII Golfs incl. GTI and R use to come with cheap pressed steel front control arms.
They all share the same soft rubber bushings. Even more, for spirited driving or even
track use, the Golf suffers from insufficient front camber. Sadly there's no factory provided
way to adjust front camber (contrary to the rear).
Due to this sporty drivers want more camber. They also want stiffer bushings. This is
what you get with the SuperPro control arm kit.
Even more, these control arms are made from aluminium alloy instead of pressed steel,
just like the stock control arms of the Audi A3/S3 8V and new TT (Mk.III 8S gen).
The Superpro kit also comes with their innovative "DuroBall" bushing, which is both stiff
and has very low friction, similar to "Unibal" bearing used in racing, but with some amount
of damping.
Last not least, it does increase caster, which improves steering and straightline stability
and gives some dynamic camber gain on cornering.

I'm convinced it will provide great steering feel and handling, significiently reduced
understeer and higher lateral acceleration. That's what usually happens when you
add camber and caster and fit stiffer bushes.

As a bonus, these control arms are lighweight and corrosion resistant, while the stock
steel arms look rusty after just one winter. They also complement the alloy swivels
all Mk.VII GTIs and Rs come from factory with, and the alloy subframe I introduced here:

Nice find! It's great to see slightly more enthusiast-focused components like this finally hitting the market.

I'm keeping a close eye on your other thread as well ;)

Speaking of the TyrolSport subframe collars; are there any reports from Mk. 7 owners indicating that this is an issue like it was on the Mk. 6?

Bruce, thank you for the info. Going to contact my local SuperPro distributor to find some pricing.

I don't remember any subframe issues on the Mk.VII yet. Anyway I prefer
to swap the entire subframe for the Audi alloy one before fitting collars.

What effects would this have on tire wear?

With an additional -0.5 degrees of camber, in spirited driving situations it should actually increase the life of the tire while offering improved handling.

Caster, on the other hand, won't really play a role in tire wear.

Agree with Simmons. The increase in camber isn't excessive, not to compare with
race car camber settings (of -3° and more).
With added camber the inner side of the tires will wear more, and the outside will
wear less, depending on on the specific camber value. You can partially compensate
for this with the corresponding toe value (more camber, more toe in).
So if you previously suffered from excessive outside tire wear on front, increased
camber will reduce and even tire wear. This is commonly the case on spirited driving
and particularly on tracking.
If you just use the car as a commuter in town, you obviously don't need any suspen-
sion mods at all.

;)

Btw, for a neutral handling I prefer to run similar camber values both front and rear.
Near -1°30' (1.5) is fine for a daily driver with some spirited driving. If you track or
autocross, you probably want more.

Yes, I've seen, it's SuperPro's own. ;)
I have no information on it yet. I just remember they sell an adjustable ball joint for the Mk.V/VI.
It would be great if this one fits the Mk.VII. Interestingly Audi reused the Mk.II TT (8J) balljoint
for their new Mk.III TT (8S).

I dig these and would buy them in a heart beat... but not at that price.

Per the installation instructions and the attached picture, that ball joint doesn't appear to be stock. Is that an aftermarket ball joint?

Having looked at the parts codes for the MK6 & MK7 golf ball joints the main section is the same number.........

5Q0 407 365A
3G0 407 365B
1K0 407 365C

The pictures in this thread posted by "the Bruce" are taken off SuperPro's website........I recon that is either them "trying" their MK6 ball joint, or a prototype MK7............as nothing is listed on their site.........

.............yet!!!
