New radio for 2005 MK5 Golf S?

2005 Golf S MK5
I'm a bit of a newbie so any help is much appreciated.
I bought my 2005 MK5 1.4L Golf S from a friend and the car came with an after-market radio. Basically, I'm not a fan of it, the navigation system doesn't work on it and I'm in the market for a new radio. I've found a Sony DSX-B700 from Halfords and was wondering whether it would fit in my car? I've also seen stuff about part numbers and matching them up, how is this done? And would I need an adaptor so the new radio works in the car?

Cheers for any help!

I had a MK5 and assuming the dash is the same as yours it's a standard fit. Removal is easy with the right tools , google radio removal tools and you should be able to pick up from the bay for a couple of £ , same thing will cost you 3x from Halfords.
Suggest remove radio and take into Halfords.. depending on what the previous owner(s) have done, if anything, to adapt the factory wiring harness, you might find a plug and play harness solution or have to adapt a bit.
Good luck, hope this helps.
