New GTI owner in Philly area

Hey Gang,

I recently picked up a 2016 GTI Autobahn edition. I mainly plan on doing some Quality of life mods and maintaining daily drivability.

This is actually my 3rd GTI (previously had a MK2 & Mk4). I've always been sort of obsessed with them but have not really gotten into "the scene" before. I'd love to do that though.

I'm in DELCO, near the airport, and I will be trying to hit up Souped up Saturdays, as a few friends of mine go there and help host it. I'm looking for more VW specific thing/events in the area, Any suggestions on where to start?

Hey man, my favorite quality of life mod so far was Euro side-view mirrors, these are the ones I got (this is NOT my listing, and I am not affiliated):

They have a much wider field of view than the stock side-views, and IMO it improves visibility a ton, I don't know why the US versions came with the shit mirrors they currently have. My 2014 Ford Focus had great mirrors and I was surprised when I got my 2015 GTI.

Once you get up near 60-70k you'll also want to consider valve cleaning to keep your engine healthy: https://www.golfmk7.com/forums/index.php?threads/carbon-buildup-80k-before-and-after-photos.363909/

You should also consider looking up the dog-bone insert and clutch pedal stop mods, I've enjoyed those too.

Does this have the blind spot light with it as well?

OH! I have these on my civic, the mirror is like bent a little more .. very nice feature, I will def be getting these!!

Any other local individuals that want to network....Im on my 2nd mk7, first was a 15 2 door pp dsg that got totaled by a deer. My current ride is a 17 se dsg, bought as a cpo car. Currently stock except for jb4.

I’m in Northeast Philly, currently applying for apartments in south Philly around Passyunk.

If anyone wants to trade Nogaros in 8-9/10 condition for Canyons in 10/10 condition, let me know :D

I am also looking to offload some 18X8 ET35 OZ Ultraleggeras in bronze, wrapped in 235/40 AS3+.

If I can find someone to buy my canyons + OZ’s, I want to run one set of 17” wheels year round on either DWS06 or PSAS4’s.
