Only issue I ever had with a wet filter was the first time I cleaned one on my escort back in the day. Put too much oil on it and fouled the MAF. only time I ever had an issue.

Common dilemma on MAF cars. Had same issue on my ls1 z28 back in the day. Not an issue on our MK7 cars.

This looks good for the price. Anyone got one on a 1.8 tsi with APR plus 87 tune? The stock with K&N, no snow filter is pretty good setup but curious about this open system. My 1.8 just a little to quiet ha

My car was running an Autotech lid with a K&N panel filter. After installing the APR open unit, huge woosh.

How many HP does Whoosh equate to? I’d say the previous intake setup was pretty efficient. If sound adds HP then I’d say around 15hp at the wheels! J/k
I’m a sucker for intake mods but understand the big picture gains. I have the ECS air dam, 034 plenum, APR intake and 034 TIP. I’d say adding a downpipe is more noticeable seat of the pants than all the intake mods combined. But the sound alone of the APR intake is worth the money- especially at this discounted price. If there are any added HP gains, then that’s an added benefit. The car felt lively after the intake install and the sound was engaging.

Seriously though, thanks for posting the videos on YouTube of what the intake sounds like when you’re driving. Gives me a great idea of what I have to look forward to.

I went through the process of ordering one without placing the order and everything worked fine. Would they cancel it after recieving it? I found a reshipper company that would route it from arizona to cali for 17 bucks.
I'm pretty sure it's legal for them to sent it to you. It's just not "legal" to drive on city streets with it. I bet a huge portion of modded cars in CA with aftermarket intakes are not CARB legal. How many cars are out there running tunes and downpipes that are not street legal. I mean no performance downpipes are CARB approved.
It like that threaded barrel for a Glock. You can have it...but you can't install it.
