Negative battery terminal sensor dead??

Is this error meaning my battery monitor sensor is dead?

With engine off, infotainment radio unit will turn off after minute or two with error message on screen: Battery too low. If I check battery voltage manually with multimeter it says around 12.5V, which is actually very good. OBDeleven states voltage is around 11.9V meaning it doesn't match actual state..

Also when driving with AC blower at full power, after some time it reduces it self to 50% blow even thought it's still adjusted to maximum power. This appears to be due to low voltage as seen on scan bellow.

Just wan't to check if anyone had experience with this before? The sensor I am thinking about is 5Q0 915 181 C

Sounds like the battery is acting up and needs to be replaced. How old is the car? 3 years seems to be the point of failure for most of our batteries.

^^^ hmm........ I suspect the problem might be with the earth connection itself - or maybe with the battery monitor control module (less likely because it's a very simple device - just a coil of wound wire). check the negative terminal lug -tighten if required and make sure there is no "frosting"

Hey Dv52,
I have of course checked battery terminals, but they are clean and tight.
What do you thing about that fault (Open Circuit on battery terminal rec.)? It’s also strange ObdEleven reads less voltage (11.9) than there actually is in battery when directly tested (12.5)

OK - then perhaps you do have a faulty battery monitor control module: here's what the VW material says about the battery monitor module:

If the battery sensor is faulty, the operating
condition of the battery can no longer be assessed
correctly.
An entry is made in the fault memory of the data
bus diagnostic interface. The start/stop system is
switched off.

The "data bus diagnostic interface" is what OBD11 calls the Gateway module - and you do have this DTC. Is start/stop system switched-off ?

Other suggestion is to check the connector on the battery monitor - it may have been disturbed when the battery was replaced

Start/Stop is not switched off and it mainly works. But from time to time there is also Start/Stop Error and it stops working. This error is not present on scan
The connector is good, it’s among the first things I checked

^^^ OK - the fact that Start Stop is (mainly) working is good news - because the battery monitor is pivotal to the CAN bus decision to switch-off the engine when the car is stopped. If there is any doubt about the battery condition and its ability to restart the engine (as reported by the monitor module) - Start Stop won't turn-off the engine

Perhaps post-up full details of the DTC.

Hey @GolfMNE! I have a similar issue, where I have a brand new battery and the media constantly states that's discharged. I'm suspecting a negative terminal cable too, before going ahead and ordering that, was your problem resolved by changing terminal?
