I recently purchased a 2017 GTI MT used at 45k miles from a bmw dealership. After the test drive I found a note card in the glove box that read "Car has revo stage 2 tune, downpipe, and intake with golf r intercooler. should net around 300whp!" I know for a fact the car does not have a downpipe or intake but im not so sure about the tune. I test drove another gti with the same year, trim, transmission, and mileage that i know for a fact was stock. The other gti felt slow compared to my car. This makes me think my car might still have the tune on it. If it had stock components on a stage 2 tune would it still run well? Is there any way to tell if there is a tune on the ecu? My gti feels much faster than any gti I've ever driven and can even keep up with my friend in his 450+hp mustang.

I can't answer the main question, but it looks like he's saying that if you install a down-pipe and intake you'll get those numbers; but not necessarily that they're being delivered at this time.

From everything I've read, though, I don't think you need those parts to get more out of the engine. So, correct me if I'm wrong, but it's possible it's putting out quite a bit more than factory at this time.

love the notecard approach!

if your car is keeping up with a v8 mustang it is almost certainly tuned. the easy way to know though is to take traction control off and on dry pavement stomp on the gas in 1st and 2nd gear and if it just spins the tires without any traction with ease up then it's tuned.

tunes on these GTIs are a dramatic increase in power, makes them feel like entirely different cars.

all the car does is spin, ive got some nokian (id never heard of them either) “all weather” tires. They’re scary in any type of weather.

Do you have the sport screen on your infotainment system? I noticed that before I tuned it, it would peak at 32 psi on the monitor, but after I tuned, the monitor only goes up to 36 and doesn't read any higher even though it should. Note: subtract 14.7 psi to figure out roughly how much boost your turbo is actually pushing.

I got a free ipod in my seat drawer.

I bought my car under the impression of just having 1 key fob. Found the second key fob in the glove box a week later.

I have the sport screen, I don’t think i’ve seen the boost go over 32psi but i’ll have to check
