I commented 17's look chonky because they do. If you like that look, then that is your preference.I've yet to see a picture of a car in here that had 17's and see someone comment that they look chonky.
I didn't have any rubbing without the fender screw mod on stock suspension with 245/35/19 G-MAX AS-05, but they never got pushed very hard on the street or saw autocross/HPDE loads. That's what my 200TW tires on 17s are for.Not sure I can wait until the next shipment of Apex 18x8.5 wheels arrive since the car needs tires now. Would rather not install the winter set since I am going to sell them soon.
Guessing a 245/35/19 tire would need the fender screw mod? This size tire is considerably more expensive than a 235/35/19.
nah you can run 15s w/288mm rotors. Mk7 Golf base setup. Some have made.312mm work with 15sConvert to drum brakes all around, run 15 inch wheels.
17’s ride best... but if you want more comfort go for a 18x8-8.5” barrel with 235/45 series tires for a bit more sidewall.17’s look too chonky. I like the look of 18’s.
235/45 will fit fine on stock 18 rims?17’s ride best... but if you want more comfort go for a 18x8-8.5” barrel with 235/45 series tires for a bit more sidewall.
Yeah. Depending on the tires you choose, it may be a tiny bit too wide for the barrel creating a slightly rhombus shaped sidewall, tapering inward towards the barrel. The performance decrease would be converse to the tradeoff in comfort. Aka pretty good for daily driving, if you're not overly performance obsessed.235/45 will fit fine on stock 18 rims?
Yeah DC city driving is rough in the comfort department, so anything there will help even at the expense of performance. I'm sure Philly is similarYeah.
