Hi folks,

I am currently driving in a 2014 Golf 7R DSG. The car was tuned to stage 1 back in 2016 and now has 365 hp and 470 torque.

I bought the car 6 months ago from a garage where it was for sale for 24,000 €. I added 4000 € together with the return of my MK6 R manual gearbox which I still regret.

The mk7 I have now really disappoints me. Every day there is something different going on with the car.

Today I came home and shut down the car and felt that the steering lock is not working.

Last week I was in the carwash and suddenly the electronic parking brake went up automatically, causing the car wash to go into emergency stop.

Sometimes when I start the car I suddenly get all the warning lights on my dashboard.

Today I drove 80km and 1 go and suddenly the cruise control stopped working and got a ACC failure and I noticed that the car stuttered at 110 / 120km / h.

Something is not right. The previous owner of the car has a photo on his instagram where he drives 290 km/h in this car on the autobahn. This is even impossible? is the car not limited? And this 290kmh also before the tuning.

All in all I regret getting rid of my MK6 and wouldn't know where to start to enjoy driving this 7R again and fix the issues. Who can help me? oh, we can't forget this one; when I'm stationary with the car, it also stutters a bit, it feels like someone is choking the car. Last month I had the spark coils replaced because I got misfires and the car was no longer driving faster than 60kmh. All 4 spark plugs were suddenly fried at the same time.

I only came here to pat you on the back. Fantastic thread title.

Like Jim said. Get the battery vaccinated. Weird things happen when our battery's suck

European Rs don't have a speed governor as far as I know. An NA model would have been limited to 145mph(233kmh)

You bought someone's project car that's reached the point of becoming a money pit.

All 4 spark plugs going at the same time isn't gonna be something simple like the battery. Sounds like this car has major problems, I'd walk away before throwing more good money after bad.

Just because it's a new battery doesn't it can't be bad. I put in a new battery and not even 6 months later, it went bad and had it replaced under the warranty

hello everyone just a little update. I took the car to the official VW dealer, they could not to tell me, even after reading the faults where the problem is. Afterwards I went to a tuning specialist and he saw that foam under the hood had been eaten!?. So apparently an animal has been under the hood and has nibbled something. I have to leave the car there and they go and see what it's eaten. The tuner itself indicates the CAN bus?
