I have the OEM ones. I like them because they don't protrude too far down.

I would think it depends on where you live and the roads you drive. I'm in CA so the car has never seen snow or salted roads. If I lived somewhere that had harsher conditions I think a little paint protection film in the covered areas would do the trick.I really dig the look but when looking around and older car with mudflaps it seems to have destroyed the paint,so I just left them in the boot at the moment

I like mine but just use them for winterI like mine.
I got the same , love them , easy install and subtle. Use them for the winter.With my long commute and crap DC metro roads, I went with Rokblokz short flaps to go along with my 17" RSe05s. They're not as obtrusive in real life as I thought they would be:
