Not a problem, in fact I'm looking forward to it. I've been toying in my mind with the idea of retro fitting the VAQ. For no other reason than it doesn't seem like VW put it in any of the TDIs.

I feel like it should have at least been an option in the GTD. We don't get the GTD over here but I suppose I'm building something as close to it as possible, minus independent rear suspension since I have the DEF tank and need to pass emissions.

I'm happy with my current data set but I have been thinking I'd like to change it for ESC into Sport when I choose Sport mode. If I do the VAQ retrofit I would want the same.

The VAQ retrofit is indeed a very nice option. It should be relatively easy to retrofit too, if my mind serves me right. Just needs a different right drive shaft and the diff itself has only 4 or 5 wires. Does your ABS allow the bit for it to be set?

Well, a little off top but there is Adblue tank for non-torsion bar, non-variant, non-AWD TDI's ;). 5Q0131877G (superseded by 5Q0131877AB) and 5Q0131983H (superseded by 5Q0131983P) adblue heated pipe from tank to connection point with front adblue pipe + 5Q0131331E adblue tank cover + 5Q0131966A filling hose + 5Q0131965AA filling neck.

So now you have no excuse for not doing US-GTD MK7 golf now 😛

I assume the only real difference is that tank is smaller.

Smaller or different shape to accommodate rear subframe (or both)

Then the question of hard points on the car to bolt up IRS

AFAIR, FWD cars boot floor pan is ready to accommodate both types of suspension. With cars that have torsion beam extra holes for mounting subframe are just covered with rubber coating.

And BTW, if you want to go for comfort when swapping to subframe, you can use A3 8V/Passat B8 rear subframe (FWD tiguan is different. A3/Passat starts with 3Q0, tiguan starts with 5QN) with rubber bushing instead of GTI's to reduce NVH
