Note that the MK8 GTI in this video does not have front fog lights!

Obviously it's hard to tell from a video but the interior plastics look cheaper than the MK7/7.5 to me. Also that particular trim doesn't have the aluminum door sill we are accustomed to.

It was part of the standard spec on the mk7/mk7.5 and earlier models in the UK. It’s now an extra cost option (£100).

It looks like it was it was filmed in Germany, so it’s not imported...but they do have hefty 19% VAT tax on cars.

VW just blew it with that grill. IMHO looks angry if that was the look they are after, congratulations. It is just not for me? Need to see one in the metal.

Agreed, that's probably the worst design choice for the Mk8. Fortunately, the new Golf R doesn't share that problem.

Very pleased with my Mk 5, 6, & 7 GTI’s but if they don’t have a wider door opening, I’ll have to pass on the Mk 8. The entry/exit rotating motion required around the B post is too difficult for my 6’3”, 81 years old body. Legroom is actually fine after I am in there. A two door version would be great.
