They had a gathering of old and new to welcome a pre-production model of the MK7 to Virginia. I guess they do monthly fan gatherings in good weather there. Saw a sexy Corrado, an old MK2, some CC with purple rims, a scirocco, and lots and lots of Golfs.

beautiful lines, love how they have the sunroof configured, those headlights look MEAN in person, and I really like the look of the rims.

Not a lot of facts to be had though. The sales team hasn't gotten their training, so it was really just to get everyone drooling, and to get anyone THINKING about settling for a MK6 to really reconsider.

Heard a few foreign accents concerned about the fact that they are being built in Mexico but other than that a lot of excitement. Actually most of the facts came from visitors based on forums and facts. :)

I put in my order for a Carbon Steel, GTI SE today... They told me it could take up to 3 months to arrive... HA! Well 3 minutes later he comes back and asks me how soon I want it. :) They were going to be receiving my car anyways by the end of next month!!!!! YEAH BABY!!!

I've ordered the offset license plate frame/holder from http://www.usmillworks.com/vw.html.. so I don't have to drill the bumper... still getting used to the ride and gadgets. :)

Buying from Lindsay VW

I picked-up my Mk 7 Golf S TDI 6-speed this past Monday from Lindsay VW in Sterling, VA and I am very pleased with my salesperson, who went to bat for me getting info out of VW about the few delays in delivery we were experiencing. He owns a 2013 Golf 'R' and is a fellow car nut, like my self, so we had a lot in common. Not typical of the automobile sales people I've worked with in the past, who are pretty much the company line spokesperson, not a true automobile nut and one currently centered on the VW machines.

If your looking for this kind of person to buy a GTI, R or the TDI from, check him out. His name is Ryan Berg at Lindsay VW in Sterling, VA. I am sure you will be pleased with his efforts and his results, just as I am.

UPDATE - Ryan Berg has since left Lindsay VW. I would contact Tom Horton at Lindsay, who owns a 2015 Golf TDI and was who I first talked with in late 2012 when VW announced the GTD. Tom is also a 'car guy' and not simply a salesman.

I am not at all sure what is going on at Lindsay VW, but it appears that Tom Horton has now also left Lindsay VW! I sent an email to him this morning about some stuff I want to do to my 2015 Mk7 Golf TDI and it was rejected because his email address couldn't be found. Further, he is no longer shown in the 'About us' staff web page at Lindsay.

Very dissapointing, now having lost two people who I spent time with cultivating a good relationship and both being good 'car guys', not simply auto salesmen. We've been doing business with Lindsay for nearly a decade, but I am not interested in cultivating new relationships, after we've already invested a lot of body heat at Lindsay. And nobody there has had the courtesy to advise longterm customers, such as us, about these changes.

Thank you for all the kind words it was a pleasure helping you get your golf.
There was a lot of issues from the Management that is destroying that dealership
And I decided it was time to move on and so did a lot of the great staff they had working there.

Rod I am now at Stohlman Volkswagen in Tyson corner. The dealership has just been remodeled and is gorgeous. We have a fantastic sales staff who are all TRUE Enthusiast. If you know anyone looking for a new VW feel free to send them my way they will receive the same Service I gave you!!!! I hope you and Shelly have many Great adventures in the golf

Hi Ryan!
Great to hear from you! I'll call you at work so we can talk about VW stuff and what I want to do about the Mk7 GTD.

Love the Mk7 TDI, but not its overly soft shocks. Just waiting for the front Bilstein HD's that will actually fit my Mk7, which requires the 50mm shock tube diameter, not the 55mm Bilstein and Tirerack listed, now a corrected listing... after we got the 55mm and found they didn't fit!

Tom landed at Moore Cadillac, in case you didn't know. Much more later when I call.
