Well the mentality behind that is I once drove a Lotus Esprit S4 and they are the most interesting cars. If you baby the throttle it scoots around like any ordinary N/A 4 banger, but swing the tach north of 4k and the beast unleashes. That is what I am after. I want to drive easy if I want and if I want faster then I just drive in the higher rpm where boost will be. With MPI I do know a guy running it on a IS38 with OEM LPFP, so it's possible.
Yes, something similar from when I was riding. I tested out both the Yamaha R6 and the R6S in 2007, decided on the R6S because it had more power at lower revs for commuting and getting out of tight traffic. The R6 was a beast over 6000rpm, but I rarely ever spent anytime there on the street.

Interesting, will have to do some more research. I know they have MPI on ROW cars, but didn't know the capabilities of the car being tuned with it.

I rode an R6 once back when I had my Ninja, they are fun.

Yes on ROW cars w/MPI, I am not sure either but I imagine Diggs or others familiar with tuning could chime in.

MPI uncorks quite a large number of possibilities, but you don't want the dinky little ROW MPI. You want >900cc MPI injectors, a LPFP, and a flex sensor. That allows you to run E85 (or even better, flex so you don't have to test/use a calculator), and really improves what you can do. You'll consume more fuel, BUT you can keep things cooler and therefore run a more aggressive setup.

I'm not super smart so I'm going to avoid speaking out of turn with regard to the technical aspects, but basically this is your trajectory:

MPI + Flexfuel
???
Profit

Absolutely right on the MPI injector size, my brain keeps thinking the Unitronic MPI kit that is 980CC Bosch injectors. So with that I am forgetting that ROW cars have smaller ones.

MPI + Flexfuel
Order pallete of ignite red
retune
gap V8 mustangs more than I do now

Used FCP Euros lifetime warranty and returned a water pump. Now I have $300 in credit. Do they still warranty oil? Get me that fancy green stuff. Website says "One-time use items: Consumable items intended for single use are ineligible for warranty or LRG returns. Examples include additives, cleaners, shop supplies, etc." I assume motor oil is single use consumable....

No they still take oil back under warranty. I’ve been doing it for a couple years now. Boxing up 12L and 2 filters to ship back tomorrow. If you were burning oil really bad and didn’t have a full jug to send back then they wouldn’t warranty that. Or if you dump some fuel injector cleaner in the tank you obviously can’t get that back out. Basically you can’t warranty a product that can’t be sent back in its entirety.

What's the easiest/cheapest way to ship oil? I know location is a big variable here but I have a couple jugs I need to send back too and am curious what it may run me

Flat rate box from USPS is what I use.

Coincidentally, I just dropped off oil to ship back to them last night to see if the whole process was worth it. They accepted oil, oil filter, and drain plug on the RMA form so I sent it all back to see what I get in credit. I'm in Canada, so I had to pay 54$ to ship it back, and got hit with duties when it was first shipped to me. I'll run the math long-term when I actually get credited but overall it's sort of worth it if you like doing it yourself. If time is money, then it's kind of a wash for anyone outside of the US.

All prices in CAD
  • 163.50$ after tax, shipping to Canada, and materials (oil, filter, drain plug).
  • 25.69$ in duties
  • 54.09$ to ship it back for store credit
After the return, the oil change is basically costing 80 dollars (59 USD) + my time to do the change (which I like doing).
It's a bit of a hassle, but it's still slightly cheaper than the 130$ I pay at my go-to mechanic.

Well, editing this as the correction should be noted. I received store credit for the oil, filter and drain plug. However my initial math didn't account for not being refunded the original shipping/tax in the order which should have been obvious..
After receiving about 94 dollars in store credit, the oil change cost this Canadian 110$ USD. Obviously not worth it. That's at least 20$ CAD extra over my normal mechanic.

I'm trying to find a list of PN#'ers for hardware, wheres the best place to find the drawings with PN'ers? I'm changing another rear coil spring...and need to purchase the one-time-use hardware again from local dealer.
