Are you able to do a leak down test? To me it's not THAT much out, but would definitely keep an eye on it.
I will get a carbon cleaning next round and then retest

That's accurate, lol. I didn't notice a huge difference after install but the car only had about 30k miles on it at the time. Higher mileage cars might be more noticeable.

I'd 100% recommend upgrading the shaft bushings though. Made the shifter feel like one solid piece instead of two pieces with some play/bend in the middle where they connect. Install was quick and easy.
I take it these are the shaft bushings inside the car? I'll make a note to order them when I get the super pin, for now I only ordered the short shifter for the trans tower.

Thanks for the advice guys 🤙

Anyone have any experience replacing the gel pad for the rain sensor after a windshield swap? The tech re-used the old gel which left weird bubbles, so I peeled it off, cleaned the gunk, and applied a new pad. But there's this haze that remains over the sensor. Is there a trick to it or something?

FWIW I re-did this using the two-liquid mix syringe method; definitely better.

Correct, but unlike the super pin it only takes a couple of minutes to install. You just need to pop up the trim piece around the shifter.

Completely out of the blue this popped up on the dash. One year old battery, otherwise I would just go and replace it.
FWIW it measures 12.60 volts on my VOM. Push button start had been pressed once without starting the car to take picture, about 60 seconds later turned itself off without me pressing the start button. Car seems to start normal.

Replace the battery or should I be checking for something else first?

fluke maybe.....got anywhere you can deep cell test the battery to make sure? I wouldn't throw another battery at it just yet unless it continually repeats itself.

for those with a VIOFO A129.......

Under advanced parking mode, did you select auto event detection, time lapse recording or low bitrate recording?

looking for best option to have camera turn off when really not necessary

also

how would you wire this to ONLY come on when car is turned on.......wire both constant and accessory wire together through cig fuse?

Use AEV- camera off until motion is detected, then turns off when no motion for, I think, 60 seconds
the other two are basically just time lapse or crappy quality mode.

Yep
They pretty much coach you into using the cig lighter option unless you actually know what a fuse box is..... So switched power source by default.
Does your cig fuse have the option to be switched, or just move the fuse over and it's constant?

You pick up the wiring kit?

Excellent input!

Yes...using their wiring kit. Not sure I want it to be in parking mode....want it to work only while car is switched on. Currently using cig position for accessory

Can't remember the exact settings but mine is set to only record if there is an impact. The motion sensor mode kept it running too much in the busy parking loot at work.

I found mine overheated easily when using the other modes.

if you can remember your settings or take a minute to look at them sometime, I'd really appreciate it!

Worth noting that motion detection and AEV are two different settings, and the manual specifies to not use motion detection unless you're parked. AEV is the impact version for when your parked, and is the desired choice I think for recording when parked.

As for only recording collisions when driving and nothing else, really can't help there, ours is just set to record all the time when running.

There should be a setting to disable parking mode. I’ll check when I get in the car.

If you’re using their wiring kit, then I think you either leave the constant power source disconnected entirely or you connect both to the same switched source.

On my 2018 I did switched only and jumped off the left DRL, but this would annoyingly reboot the camera if I ever used start stop.

I have no idea what I jumped from on my Alltrack, I just found them by using a multimeter. I opted to use parking mode this time, which I’ve never used before on any car or camera. Set it to use the g-sensor in parking mode so it only records when something hits you, vs motion. I live in an apartment so it would go off constantly from cars driving by but I want to know if someone hits it otherwise.
