No clue. Might just be an OEM that just makes them and sells them unbranded (not uncommon), which would mean they're probably fine.
Mine's made in China and I pulled it from an NAR 2016 gti, sticker for comparison with your ebay seller below.

I have a 2015 GTI S. Anyone know if I could go to a junk yard and grab a head unit out of newer year GTI SE. I'd kind of like to find one and just strip parts off it in general, better headlights, big breaks, backup camera, etc. I think you have to get a VW dealership to activate the head unit to your car? will they do it for you? I have the tiny screen, no android auto, etc. Has anyone else done this? I'm assuming you have to stick with the mk7 for the head unit not the mk7.5

By the way I've owned my GTI for 9 years and so far the only thing I've had fail is one ignition coil, the plastic coolant bleeder valve on the top of the engine, and now the struts are starting to rattle, not too shabby.

The topic of retrofitting these parts into an older mk7 is exhaustive and there's a lot of information in this forum on how to do all of that.

You will need someone (you'll likely find the dealership will not do this for you) to code the updated headunit for your car. This is typically done as a remote service through a laptop. There are individuals on this forum who perform this service.

I personally found my headunit pre-coded (hacked) on FB marketplace and installed the entire system myself. I would start by searching around this forum for the information, it's all available here.

Just in case you are not aware (I was not at first!), the head unit is separate from the display screen. You can upgrade both, you just have to make sure you pick parts that are compatible with each other. In some cases, coding or removing component protection will be required.

I have the Fender system that already had Android auto, so I was able to just replace the screen with a larger 8" one, nothing else was required besides the matching bezel for the larger screen.

Risk it for the biscuit I guess? I know the OEM ones are made in China, so it's either a knock off or the same manufacturer just selling it as an OE replacement with the VW logo "scratched" off.

It's sometimes common that an OEM will do this. People who have ordered from Ali have reported their parts came like this, in VAG boxes turned inside out with the stickers placed inside the box. If you're already set up to produce them then why not.

According to SSP 606. There SHOULD be no (no guarantee) difference between PC2 (2.0TSI up to around 240-250HP) and PC3 (280HP+) intake manifold. There is difference Between PC1 (1.8TSI) and PC2/PC3 (2.0TSI) engines. There is different shape of intake manifold runner.
Thx buddy, I returned my $600 R intake and installed the $250 intake for the GTI with no errors. The only difference I see is the golf R was made in Germany and the Gti was made in Mexico. The finish on the intake looks a little different but that's all I noticed.

Why does this look thicker than in the vids I’ve seen? FCP said it would fit my 18

As long as you verified the type (A or B) of the insert against your individual car, it should work fine. Might need to grease it, but Powerflex supplies their own washer and bolt, I'd have to look under mine again but IIRC mine isn't completely flush with the subframe. As long as it's even the whole way around you should be fine.
