Don't you have a piece of metal for a dogbone?I have the stage 2 all around and I wonder if I should have gotten stage 1

Excuse me it is, and I quote roc-euroDon't you have a piece of metal for a dogbone?
Reused, it doesn't appear to do a whole lot as far as I could see. Especially considering the mount is supplied with new high quality bolts to use to keep it attached to the engine and the chassis.@messrock @Nineeightyone
Did ya'll reuse the bolt on the "arm" of the engine mount or did you source a new one?

Was it really that hard to realign bolt holes with floor jack? looks simple enough, but some write-ups have people talking like it's hard or something
Are you certain they're wood? That seems like something someone would do in their back yard. Is it possible they're metal, but have a coating on them? Or are simply rusting in an odd fashion?Hi all,
I've been leasing a 70 plate Mk7.5 Golf GTE for over 3 months; it's a used lease, so I'm the second person to lease this car.
I looked under the car for the first time today and noticed near the back of the car there are 2 wooden blocks on each side of the chassis. Both have a metal plate over the top and have cables/tubes running down the side. They certainly look like they were installed in the factory, but it just seems a little strange.
There is no sign of repair etc, so I don't have a suspicion that the car has been worked on. Like I said, it just looks a little strange to me.
Is this normal or something to worry about?
I'm not 100%, but it feels like wood. Like I've prodded it with my fingernail and it feels like wood. Are you certain they're wood? That seems like something someone would do in their back yard. Is it possible they're metal, but have a coating on them? Or are simply rusting in an odd fashion?
That's super odd. I'd say maybe see if a magnet sticks to it or something, while that won't completely tell you it might at least give a hint.I'm not 100%, but it feels like wood. Like I've prodded it with my fingernail and it feels like wood.
It's likely that the strut shafts are the same size, since in theory at least they would need to be compatible with similar top hats. I've got ST coilovers and they use the same size top hat as OEM, so I can't imagine BC reinventing the wheel here.Embarrassed I don't know this, but since KW CS coilovers with the top mounts are stupid expensive, can I get like V1 kit and re-use my existing (BC) top mounts? Do like a swap out or does that mess with the suspension geometry and fitment too much? I dont really want to do that but adding KW top mounts seems to add like 2k to the price.

It’s not a massive pain to realign as long as the car is level. Don’t be surprised by the gap you need to fill by lifting the engine to get it all lined up.@messrock @Nineeightyone

Here we go, these are a lot more feasible:That's super odd. I'd say maybe see if a magnet sticks to it or something, while that won't completely tell you it might at least give a hint.

PS I'm loving the STs, if you're going to get V1s I'd almost think it more worthwhile to get ST XAs since they're similar to the V2s with some concessions in materials. KW states that ST doesn't get the same tech despite being the same company, but even if they did I don't think KW would divulge that information because it would torpedo their sales for the lower-end product lines.
If you've got Capital One, they frequently have cashback offers via Tire Rack -- I got my coils with 4% cashback on top of the standard 1.5% cashback, you might need to punch in the part number manually to order though. I really looked at the XTAs, but didn't want to do pillowball up top. I'm very pleased with all the ST stuff I've had though, so hopefully you will be too. Here we go, these are a lot more feasible:
