Unfortunately while I'm at work I can't download anything onto my workstation since it's owned by the government/military but will use this on my personal laptop because these ads are ridiculous.

Don't work for the govt but my work computer is pretty tightly locked down, just gonna have to deal with the ads lol, was wondering if it was just a me thing or if everyone is seeing a crazy amount of huge ads

Not that I'm going to suggest circumventing your IT department's controls, BUT you could potentially run something a la PortableApps' Firefox which doesn't need installation permissions. And/or Firefox on Android supports extensions, and/or you can run Blockada without root, which is nearly the same result as changing your hosts file (similar to what DNS level adblocking would do, but at a local level).

I'm a tech nerd at heart, and one who's very particular. So anything that annoys me, I want to change right away, and it can be a bit problematic/stand in the way of making actual progress lol. But just some thoughts/options.

you see the ads at work? I have worked at govt facilities for years, they are all blocked. Hell, there are websites, like ECS website that even the images for parts are blocked from view.

On headlight installation:

I did a test run last night to see how much I could access without fully removing the bumper. This is what my seller sent from his install

The only things I need from full bumper cover removal is access to a screw on the side near the turn indicator, and clearance to slide the headlights. I removed all the bumper screws on that side, and three screws on the underside. I wasn't able to get easy access to the side screw on the headlight however with just those screws out so I aborted and put it back together. I think I needed to pull the clips out, and potentially remove a couple more screws near the center of the cover.

So my random stupid question is, is it simpler to follow the instructions and fully remove the cover? My seller was very concerned about disturbing the front collision sensor. I don't know what the clip situation is on the cover so I don't really know what to pull on to move it down. I won't have assistance to fully drop the bumper cover until this weekend most likely, and I'm itching to get this done on a weekday evening.

Good luck with the headlight assembly main harness, that thing is a PITA to unplug. Im going to fight with mine again as soon as the weather clears up.

Yep and still get all these annoying ads. It wasn't always like this. These ads just came out of nowhere around 3 weeks ago.

Portableapps based tools routinely trigger AV. Many of our corporate tools have flagged things and caused our security team to waste a day or two verifying if it's legitimate or not. Most of the time it's harmless and just poor naming conventions or janky unsigned code that triggers things, but there have been a few where there was legitimate malware.

The bigger concern is when people attempt to disable their AV so they can continue to use the tool getting flagged. Most often they're trying to use a portable app because they think it's a way to skirt change control processes because "it's not a change" when it really is.

I don't have a problem with the tools from there(mostly), but I think it's worthwhile to be aware if you're on a tightly controlled system and something flags, you might get a lot of negative attention.

That's true, and it's been quite a while since I used them. I know in the past I've been able to install/run Firefox without admin privileges, so that might be an option. Overall though, likely not something worth risking your job over. I'm able to install extensions in my job role, so I just have uBlock Origin on Edge because it's all I'm able to use here, though anywhere I've ever had a choice I've installed Firefox for day-to-day tasks.
