Be careful with some of that Chinese crap. Look at the joints, connectors and finishing. People spend hundreds on aftermarket things like CAIs to smooth air flow and so forth - then we dumb down the system with some sort of a cheap no-name TIP (or anything else) because it isn't one of those sexy aftermarket parts like a CAI.

Not quite the same, but similar. In the late 80's I had a very nice XJS-V12HE. I had a cooling system leak (it was a law that every Jaguar made had to have at least one leak at all times). I replaced that hose with some no-name part from the local UK DIY store.

A couple of weeks later I got on a ferry, got off in Belgium on my way to Germany. I got a speeding ticket in Belgium, but then blew that hose at 240kmh (about 150mph) between Wurzburg and Nuremberg. It ended up doing lots of damage. Spending double or triple for that hose would have saved me the $5k for the repair.

Hey guys, how do you know if you have a bad dogbone, motor or trans mount. 6 speed Sachs Performance Clutch w/ DMFW

1) unpleasant loud noise when coming off a stop in first gear
2) wobble/ticking like sound upon acceleration in 2500-4k range that last only 3 seconds and then goes away when building boost in like 2 or 3rd
3) engine noise when I go over a uneven bump on the road upon acceleration

Never changed the any mounts on my car. Just wanna hear some opinions

it might be related, but you should really get a dogbone insert/puck either way

Can you rock the engine by hand?

Can hear/feel shifting of the engine when coming off the throttle from WOT?

I'm honestly not sure. The car sometimes feels like it lunges abit when shifting. Shifting right now feels pretty clunky/sloppy getting into gears. I feel like I hear the engine move when I get on the throttle over an uneven bump @StorableComa

Here's a dumb question: is my battery going bad? Been seeing a lot of intermittent "voltage too low" errors that inevitably come back after I clear them. OBD11 shows voltage btwn 11.3 and 11.5 with the engine off. Asked my local dealer about it, they ran a test and claimed it passed. Hesitates a bit turning over but otherwise no CELs or anything. If it is bad, I assume it's not something that'd be warranty-able? She's only a little over 2 yrs old w/ 12k miles.

Do you have a multimeter to check the battery itself?

FWD, but I don't launch from a stop where hop would be an issue 99% of the time. Wagon is a daily and dog hauler. Just looking to stiffen up things with the BFI stage 1 mounts and not introduce too much NVH. Like that the powerflex fills the lower and upper voids.

I would still suggest using the 034 upper aluminum insert combined with a poly/rubber insert. May require a bit of cutting of the poly, but it’s strange nobody besides 034 has made a legit upper insert like that, the “upper insert” portion of the poly inserts is pretty inconsequential.

I don’t often suggest 034 parts but when I do, it’s always the 034 upper insert.

So I thinking of saving myself $240 and doing my engine and transmission mounts myself after watching shopDAP and Jake's videos on the topic.

I only have one set of jack stands and a set of ramps. How difficult would it be to do on ramps? Any concern with engine shift with support with a jack due to the angle?

Debating if the $80 harbor freight engine support bar is worth it.

I've got a date with Home Depot to pick up some hardware for my airbox post fix, probably pick up a scrap piece of 2x4 to spread out the load.

I also had only a set of jack stands and ramps, with a harbor freight jack and the wide jack bar adapter thing. I did mounts myself in an afternoon, its worth it.

Did you just use the ramps on the front, or did you lift the whole car?

Found out I have a 25% coupon for HF, debating if 60 bucks is worth it for the bar or if I should just pick up the 2x4. Doubt i'd ever have use for the bar again, Unless I want to be like Diggs and swap mounts 4 times. :ROFLMAO:

You can do it all without the bar, but you'll need both the ramps and the jackstands. The car should be level when doing the engine and transmission mounts, and must be level to do the dogbone mount.
