Curb weight is 3,292lbs in it's lightest form, but it does FEEL heavier for some reason.

Must be a different version 3,561 lbs ?

lol the poor soul who bought a nismo and is slower than a base. so average is around 105mph? an R would definitely be able to keep up, i dont think it will be overtaking the Z, but it can definitely hang.

Truth is, the nismo has the same engine and transmission. It has better suspension and a slightly better exhaust....annnndddd that's about it. I never understood why everyone was so hard up for a nismo when it's close to the same car as a base 370Z for 10k+ more. I remember I got my 370Z for 28k brand new, the nismo was 40K...

i thought it was 350hp vs the base 336hp? its cause the nismo badge looks faster lol

Didn't really feel like reading through the whole thread but I have a GTI with just a jb4 and I raced my friend's 370z from a roll and we are pretty even. One time I will win and one time he will win, and it's only by a marginal amount anyways.

I raced a 370z once and the guy looked so disappointed when I pulled him as bad as I did. It had an exhaust, unsure if anything else. I'm stage 2 with some bolt ons.

Fellow R owner here who used to own a 370Z.

I hate to say anyone is full of it or anything, but stock for stock a *manual* R is not going to hang with a 370z (manual or auto) like this. A DSG R would fair a lot better, but holding boost in between shifts is what helps it.

Now, my current R (ED stg 1.5 93oct) would put a good hurting my old 370Z (Stillen gen 3 CAI, test pipes, catback, UpRev tune).

And no, I'm not trying to stir whole manual vs dsg thing again. It's just what I have experienced driving both.

I think you forget how slow a 370z is. A 6M is better for roll racing than a DSG and a DSG is better from a dig than 6M.

Yeah I don't get the hate. Pretty sure a stock R is faster than a 370. I beat one easy stage 2 mk6 and I think when my R was stock it was faster than my GTI. I'm sure "seconds" was an over statement but I can see the win.

You’re wrong. Dsg is better from a roll also, there simply isn’t any boost dump on shifts, the more shifts the more the distance grows. Unless the gearing is way different on manual vs dsg gti’s, the boost dump on shifts really hurts.

I disagree on that being from 50-120 mph I only have to make one shift. :).
