I just bought my first VW GTI and I'm 100% in love with it. I'm finally at a point in which I can start getting what I consider more expensive cars so I'm very excited for what I ended up getting with this vehicle for the money.

I hate to say it but I'm almost a "buy new" guy. Especially with cars like this because I'm afraid if I buy a used car like a GTI or other hot hatch/performance car I have no idea how it was treated or more likely mistreated!

I wonder if this won't get canceled with all the pandemic stuff going on.

Also glad to see some people around my age! I just went out driving yesterday and it was a lot of fun. Not a lot of people on the roads which was weird and good I guess.

I sure hope things like C&C or Bug-In will be happening this summer. A Corvette buddy of mine said people were getting together for a social distancing pleasure cruise this weekend. If stuff gets cancelled we could still get together for a cruise maybe.

First time VW owner here, with a new 2019 Golf R purchased yesterday. I see the age thing up above, and so, I should mention that I am 37. I would like to attend this meet up with you all. Are kids welcome? I'd like to bring my son, who is 11. Thanks for coordinating!

Of course kids are welcome. I have a 7 and 13 year old. Hopefully with all the craziness we can still make this happen. If anything we will just push back the date with cars and coffee. Will update on here if anything changes.

I am sad to say that both of the events have been postponed or canceled for June.

So, since we can have groups of up to 10 people, can we make a cruise and picnic happen?

I can cruise at least 6ft off your bumper 😎 and I can probably hear you from the opposite corner of the picnic table. 👂👴

Otherwise, Cars and Coffee is still on for July.

I like to cruise along the MN/WI border like Taylors Falls/Osceola/Stillwater or Red Wing/Lake Pepin areas. MN State Parks are open as a place to congregate with 10 or fewer people. I like stopping at Interstate Park near Taylors Falls. Check out 7 & 9 here. There is also this.
