Weird about the difference in volume between the two transmissions and also the video that I viewed. Agreed that as long as you are not experiencing any hard shifting, grinding, or different noises than from before that you are good to go. As already suggested calling the dealer to find the correct fluid volume is really the next step. If it is a lower capacity ask why?

Did anyone replace the drain and fill plugs on their transmission after this service? Trying to find the right part numbers for those to order. Thanks!

Go to ECStuning.com or shopdap.com or fcpeuro.com and put in your vehicle and buy the kit for the 6mt fluid change. The kit from ECS comes with the drain and fill plugs, but don't know about the others but they will be listed. here is a link to ECS: https://www.ecstuning.com/Volkswagen-Alltrack--1.8T_Gen3/Drivetrain/Manual_Transmission/. I believe that this is your vehicle. I did replace both plugs on my 17 GTI Sport.

Thank you! I was going to try the Pennzoil Synchromesh, but I'll probably just go with the kit you've linked.

You can probably just look up the part numbers for the two plugs, they are the same, and just get those from the dealer or order them if you want to use the Pennzoil fluid.

I just changed my fluid with Fuchs Titan Sintofluid 75W GL-4 at just over 30,000 miles. Shifts are noticeably smoother. I also swapped to the OEM European shift cable linkage several months back and that made shifting quite a bit more enjoyable, shorter throw travel with a bit more engagement.

Hi,
I realize this is an old thread but here is my experience for a Golf MK7 TSi manual (2015). The drain plugs required a 17mm hex bit to remove and not 10mm. Only about a quart and half of fluid drained out - I was expecting over 2 qts. Before anyone asks, yes the car was level & engine warm. I increased and decreased the inclination of the car to be sure to get every drop out. I used 1.5 x Royal Purple High Performance Synthetic Gear Oil 75W90 (946-ml) - the transmission feels much smoother now.
Tnx for the tutorial.
