turned off the soundaktor (used a different android device) cabin is now quite vs stupid made up sounds. I'll check the clamps this weekend. I do like the sound, not a lot of drone, just a little of me getting used to it

Alright guys I've read through about 45 pages of this thread lol I have a 16 gti with ihx 475. Catted CTS downpipe, stock resonator, vibrant resonator and stock suitcase. I just ordered the AFE axel back to eliminate the suitcase. Car is super quite at the moment no drone whatsoever. I apologize if this has been covered already but eliminating the suitcase with the current setup with the afe axel back from what I've read will be very very loud? I'm looking for aggressive but not obnoxious. Thanks for any info

Why would you have a OEM resonator & a Vibrant resonator?

Even if you did use the 17950, it’s in the wrong location.

Basically what I’m seeing here is you’re a fan of the “ready, fire, aim” method doing your research AFTER pulling the trigger. Prepare for drone and uncontrollably loud Honda nosiboi trumpet-fest featuring your car.

Sorry if this comes off as harsh, but you’re about to learn the hard way unfortunately.

He's a friendly guy, so don't take that post the wrong way...he had no way of knowing you had bought the car that way, unless you said that earlier in the thread (haven't read to see if that was the case)? He's just tired of folks doing exactly that (what he said) and then complaining about it...

Can you post a pic of how the previous owner placed the second res on the car? Interested to see where they placed it if the factory res stayed in place.

and yes, going from what you have now to and muffler delete is going to be pretty loud.

Seems like you are a fan of ready fire aim... I'm not a punk ass 20 year old, man! So I don't appreciate being labeled or treated this way. Believe it or not I race professionally and coach other professional racing drivers for a living. I have a pretty good idea of what a nice sounding exhaust should sound like because I get to race cars only your simple ass can dream of seeing in person. That being said, if you have nothing helpful to add, then keep your mouth shut and let someone on here who has decency and actually wants to help rather than shit and flex their limited knowledge on one subject (exhaust) chime in.

Don't have any pics sry but the vibrant the previous owner installed is located directly before the bend leading to the suitcase/rear subframe if that makes any sense. It's a small resonator as you can imagine because there's not much straight section there. The car is legit quieter than stock.

IMO, there is no possible way to make the exhaust on this car sound good. In that case, quiet is better. I would leave it as is.
I agree that the mk7's don't really sound good at all lol just wanted to experiment seeing as how it's too quiet with whatever the previous owner did to it.

Well, our cars aren't cammed, small/big block or a '67 Camaro/Mustang sooooo.....understandably so. We all do what we can do with what we got, right?

I’m also running the catted CTS Turbo downpipe. I went with the Vibrant 17950 resonator in the stock resonator location and left the axle back stock. I like the sound, it’s definitely louder than stock and sounds great inside the car. It’s pretty quiet under 2800 but it gets decently loud past 3000 but not obnoxious. I personally think it sounds pretty good in terms of tone and loudness. Hope this helps!
