Came across this incredible thread in my quest to alleviate some drone on my MK7.5R, have read almost all 134 pages lol. This has been an amazing treasure trove of knowledge around taming drone/making exhaust sound better on our platform, my hats off to you @GTI Jake for putting this together and everyone who's contributed testing and input, basically a one-stop shop for research purposes ha. My setup and issue: 4' TrackSlag Catless DP, EQT Typhoon, AWE Switchpath CBE - with valves closed, she purrs like a kitten and still has some character when I give her the beans. With valves open.... a touch too loud and awful awful AWFUL rasp, tinny drone at about 3k-4k rpm, cruising on the highway sucked. Can confirm the Vibrant 17950 has eliminated the rasp and SIGNIFICANTLY reduced the drone with valves open, absolutely nailed the sound profile I was going for. Almost went with a whole new CBE but thought I would give this a shot and it worked PERFECTLY. Couldn't be happier. Thanks @GTI Jake !!

Hi folks – has anyone with an R tried the 1795 (4" body diameter) instead of the 17950 (5")? I think you did, @Bievahh?

Wanting to add a vibrant to my system but really don't want to lose ~1.5" of ground clearance. Would be happy if the 4" version was slightly less effective in combatting drone, but wouldn't bother if it would target entirely the wrong frequencies or something (full system would be catted ARM DP, 1795, APR Helmholtz, stock back box).

Hi all,

Recently did APR CDP + Midpipe Delete + Stock Exhaust on my IS38 Swapped 1.8T Alltrack and the sound is very quiet, no drone in the interior, but tinny and sounds cheap from the outside.

I’d like to bring back some ‘Euro’ tone and add more tone and bass to the exhaust, without introducing drone in the interior.

I do plan on keeping the stock muffers (or swap 2 of them to magnaflows if needed), but can swapping midpipes give me what I’m looking for?

I’m torn between 17930, 1795, 17950.

Anyone try CDP + 17930/1795/17950 + Stock AT Mufflers?

Thanks

17950 will deepen the tone, but it’ll be even quieter inside
