I have the standard vortex. It's just a bit lagger than I want. It makes full boost around 5k and does the same when it shifts into 4th. I'm guessing I just need to play more with the wastegate duty in that range.
Wg should be closed for spool up

5k?! Who tuned it? Should be making power way before that. Hell, I have full spool on the XL way before that!
Ummm me. Lol Im just being picky. I'm so used to my is20 with instant power. It makes request when I want it, it just takes 300-500 rpm to spool up when I stomp it from 4500rpm.

Tuning yourself if awesome and all, but seriously your WG should be closed 100% until just before full boost. My Vortex make full boost before 3500.

It is, I'm doing this for 60-130 runs.
If I brake boost it's fine, but mashing it in 3rd at 50 mph aint the best.

He’s not speaking about spool from low rpms. Floor your XL from 4500rpms and you’ll see what he means.

My XL wakes up at 50 in 3rd and pulls strong. Less than that, not so much and if I am at 4500 rpm she scoots for sure. I have logs showing 27 pounds in 3rd at 3600 and 28 pounds in 4th by 3300, something seems a bit off.

Yeah… Gives the word “fast” a whole new meaning. I’ve seen a few GTRs go even faster on the street.

I think the even crazier thing is a Plaid can do a sub 5 second run STOCK 😳

Fully loaded ‘15 SE, DSG, APR DTR, 93 octane tune. Half tank, full weight, 2 car seats.

Edit: So I just ran a 1/4 mile and kept going. Should I be brake boosting from 50mph instead?

I do the same brake boosting really doesn't net me much, unless I'm doing it wrong. I have my car tuned where I'm at full boost by 50-55mph when I stand on it from 40-45mph

Great time for a 93 tune! And with slight rise overall. That is some killer DA.

Thanks, weather was pretty much perfect last night. Tried my luck again tonight and ALMOST cracked 10’s with a little less uphill. That slight incline at the end is such a bummer, but it’s the best spot I’ve got.

Guess I’ll try again when it drops a few more degrees, maybe remove the spare.

Solid! The DTR is clearly no Vortex especially with stock DP, more like an IS38++.

I’m not mad though, I’ve gone from mid-12s to 11-flat with the DA drop and removing my roof rack/fairing. Not expecting miracles, but I’m sure it’s got a bit more in it even without dropping any weight.
