Still fairly sure I would spend the $ if a clean MK4 R32 popped up on the market. Yes, I looked at the one on C&B but it was too rough for my taste.

'but it's heavy/slow/not real awd/other dumb shit nerds say'

mk4 R32 is greatness and is very much greater than the sum of its parts/spec sheet

Finally got all the warning lights off on the dash and was wondering why my car was so dark inside?

Still haven't serviced my dsg or haldex 42k.. probably do both this weekend.

Literally spent two hours yesterday looking at 1990s skyline GTST’s and thinking of trading. Then I realized my GTI is extremely comfortable and fun to drive.

After flashing the last revision from my live tuning session, I threw the Accessport in the glove box and have just been driving the car normally since, about 2,000 miles. I even switched from the Trackslag DP to the new catted Unitronic one and didn't re-tune or even plug it in to check anything. Car drives great, no CEL, pulls smooth and hard to 7200.

During the Vortex install my mechanic didn't have that long laptop cable and so just hand-adjusted the wastegate, ended up being about 3.3v instead of the suggested 3.7ish, but EQT didn't mind and it's been great. Ended up around 34psi on E75, if I recall.

Have a list of projects to do on the car that I have been waiting for a nice day and available time (excuses for procrastinating) to knock out. Dogbone insert (way overdue), rear swaybar and moog links, front Meyle HD links and downpipe are all queued and ready for install.

Anyway, had set the items aside with any special tools I need specifically for that project. Going to raise the car and level to do the dogbone insert and I can't find it. Looked everywhere. Then I also realize my 4' breaker bar I set aside with it is also gone. Its one thing to lose the insert, but losing the breaker bar is something else entirely. Maybe 50 is hitting me harder than I thought.

Another Vortex build confession: the Sachs clutch w/stock DMF held through the whole live tuning process, on 91 and E, and never slipped for the couple months before I put on the Ringer Racing one. Full-throttle redline pulls in 4th, never showed slip on the logs. It had about 22k miles on it when I put the Vortex on. So there's a data point for any guy or gal out there searching "Vortex" and "Sachs". It wouldn't have lasted long, but it held for tuning.
