I appreciate it! Yeah I have the OEM splash guards but I wouldn't mind removing them to have that installed. Got any pics of yours?

I want to install the TCR valance on my 2021 S. Do you need additional hardware? Or did you use the original from the stock valance?

Yes, you will need 2 (left/right) lower retainer inserts with the valance.

Left insert - 5G6 807 509 D
Right insert - 5G6 807 510 D



I have heard that you can potentially use your stock inserts but I can't confirm if that's true.

Thanks. I actually meant the screws from the original diffuser.

I will be getting my OEM side skirts painted gloss black, I think it's going to look great. I have considered the TCR side skirts but I can't justify the enormous cost.

I was thinking about this as well. I did email my tint/vinyl shop and they mentioned repainting. Might be the move.

So I guess I posted this and completely forgot this forum existed I have no yet completed mine but I just got my hands on a stock GTI exhaust so I'm looking back into the whole thing.

For the purchase of the rear valance, I haven't purchased it yet but when I do buy it, I'll be going through the dealer for sure. I don't wanna risk getting some garbage non-OEM parts.

No need to remove the rear bumper. There's 2 bolts you have to remove from the inside of each edge closer to the fender liner, and 4 plastic clips held in with plastic screw. The GTI valance is pretty cheap from the dealer.

This is for the GTI. I have a TSI which has a different rear valance. Is the process the exact same? The GTI rear valance extends towards the ends of the bumper near the wheel wells but the TSI valance doesn't extend that for so I'm not 100% the two extra screws inside the bumper are even there..

Honestly this is just one of those things where you tell someone to figure it out. take out the screws you can find, pull on it, see if there are any you missed... and you're done.

Nothing to destroy, process should be the same. The bumper is identical across 7.5 Golf/GTI/R so it is the valance that changes.

You'll see everything clearly once you're under the bumper.

Nothing is fragile unless you like full ape it and don't pay attention to where the resistance is.

I installed it using the stock inserts and everything fit great, no problem at all

Yeah fits not affected by those brackets inserts… it’s only for the edge where it’s visible from the wheel wells, just matches the profile of the TCR piece fully.
