@DV52 Yes ofcourse i know that, but i was just wondering how will i know which one works and if i got the right one if the error stays?
hmm...... not sure that I understand "which one" you mean in your response?

Are you referring to "which one" of my 2 x suggested long-code changes in my previous response?
Or are you referring to "which one " - meaning which of the many fixes that could possibly apply to clear this car of ALL errors?

@DV52 The first one, which long code to use :)
GGrrrrrrr............... I hate the way that this forum implements advertisements!!! Why do I need to navigate through 3 x versions of the same ad to post a response?

@vw019283: OK -let's make this real simple!! In my previous post -I proposed 2 x options for changes to the BCM long-code string on this car.

In my VCDS instructions (previous response) - I suggested "1st Try" and "2nd Try". These suggestions are focused ONLY on fixing the U101400 Control module coded incorrectly error on the BCM.

Again in my VCDS instructions, between 1st Try and 2nd Try - I include Step 7 & Step 8 (copy below):
7. Clear ALL errors and SCAN the car - does the U101400 Control module coded incorrectly error re-appear on the BCM?
8. If so, repeat steps 3 and step 4 above

So, regardless of which diagnostic device you use (it doesn't matter)- do the following:
  1. make the long-code change in 1st Try.
  2. Then clear ALL errors and SCAN the car again.
  3. Does the U101400 Control module coded incorrectly error re-appear on the BCM in the new SCAN?
  4. If NO, the problem of incorrectly coded BCM is fixed!
  5. If YES, 1st Try has NOT fixed the problem - so make the long-code change in 2nd Try.
  6. Again, clear ALL errors and SCAN the car.
  7. Does the U101400 Control module coded incorrectly error re-appear on the BCM in the new SCAN?
  8. If NO, the problem of incorrectly coded BCM is fixed
  9. If YES, 2nd Try has NOT fixed the problem
  10. If YES, restore BCM long-code string to original value and look for another fix!

@DV52 Ok i just tried it and the D gave me another fault code: Databus missing error en the E has the same codes as the C but like i said this could be because the other settings are not right.

@2018gti I have found all the same files as the russian done it with do you know in what order i need to flash the 5 modules? And the 4b pack has 4 different bundles 1 commen data en 3 for different versions, do you think i need to upload commen data + the right version for my car or only the right version for my car?

I don’t *think* the order really matters, as long as when you’re done with all 5 you clear the codes from all the modules and check what codes are remaining, if there are any. like the OP @AWD4416 mentioned you have to try different combinations until all the codes disappear. the 4B module seems to have a list of the variants it supports in its dataset and I’m assuming it checks 29/39/D6/D7 to see if they match.

about the 4B common vs car-specific I’m not sure but I guess it wouldn’t hurt to upload both?

also to answer your question from before I’m pretty sure MXB stands for Matrix Beam, which is what you have (8IU lights).

@2018gti Ohhh ok, so do you think i would need to flash the modules with the afs files instead of the mxb since i am not going to be using the dynamic lights because i dont have the camera?

Hello People,

I retrofited a 7gtd with xenon and afs to the 7.5 front.
My normal beam was not working after the retrofit.
I followed the procedure as outlined by @AWD4416. thank u very much for al the explanation.
after doing everything I still only have normal beam the rest is not working.
after checking everything I see that I didn't buy the 5GM941077A/5GM941078A but the 5g1941035/5g1941036...
I'm sure that's the reason its not working.
I searched for the 5GM941077A/5GM941078A headlights but I couldn't find it and if I do the price is too high for me.
Now I am searching the schematics for the 5g1941035/5g1941036, and the coding of these.
like I said I followed the hole proces of @AWD4416 so also the removal of the afs and the installation of the 4b module.

I hope somebody here can help me. I am out of ideas without schematics and coding for my lamps

This is from a Canadian MK7.5 Golf R. Is this what you are looking for?

@Franswa agreed with @git443 I think you're fine with the lights you got already, the 035 and 036. I don't think you want or need the 077A/078A because those are specific to US/Canada, they have the orange reflector and orange marker light.

I think what you have (035/036) are the lower-line LEDs, the "8IT" if I'm not mistaken - with only one "U" DRL in each. if they're not working right I am guessing it's an issue with coding/parameters. I would scan all the modules for codes to figure out more what the problem is.

Hello sir,
It's right, I have the 8it lamps with only 1 U DRL in each.
I will check tomorrow morning for the error's in the different modules to try to find out what the problem can be.
Thank you for your fast respons!
