That just changes the size of the gauges, from small to large and vice versa
Wasnt that what he was asking? The gauges on the cluster were zoomed

Hey all -- just got back from having the ODIS programming done at the dealer. They said it all went great (and correctly adapted the mileage too) but they ran into a CEL they weren't able to resolve:
Code:
19868 U015500 Lost Communication With Instrument Panel Cluster (IPC) Control Module (00100111 active/static)
Any tips on a potential fix?

Looks like a remnant of the programming process. I would clear it see if it comes back

This is what's in my OBD11 history last time I did a scan; if there's a way to get more data than that, happy to try!

The retrofit didn't require a jumper harness did it?

I would start by checking connections at the back of the cluster. If everything is fine there if the dealer is friendly they should look at it if is wasn't there before

Reseated all the connectors, including the back of the cluster and behind the MIB unit; everything looks okay there. Fender audio is working fine. Dealer checked it out yesterday during the install and couldn't figure it out. I read in another thread there was something about copying coding info from the old cluster, anyone know what that might entail? Paging resident guru @Cuzoe :)

I copied coding from my old to aid cluster and got all sorts of weird codes. Not that one though. Go through and code it a byte at a time

I wouldn't say I'm a guru, but I have spent a lot of money on this stuff, haha. The dealer did my AID (poorly might I add, they didn't input mileage and didn't do any coding really). I did not directly copy coding from my old cluster to the new but I used at as a reference of sorts. It took me about a week of messing around to get everything coded to my liking. For sure the dealer took care of component protection and immo/key pairing but I can't say what else they did/did not do.

I had no faults when I left, but later that day I got a CEL for Glow Plug Indication, which I've had intermittently since that day. I won't go into it but I have a hard time with it being a coincidence that on the day I had the dash replaced I got a fault for Glow Plug Indication... seeing as how the Glow Plug indicator is in the dash. My (that) dealer sucks though, offered no support for that CEL or for failing to enter mileage.

But as @xabhax said, it looks like a coding issue. I would think there's some feature selected (start in the long coding) that your car doesn't have. As an example, DSG selected as installed when you have a manual, the dash would be looking for the mechatronic (sp?) module. Might be worth re-seating both connectors on the cluster as well.

I'm inclined to agree; thanks! Is there any of that coding documented somewhere to reference or just go off the long coding names as best I can decipher them?

Yes if you want anything else over the MOST bus (contact photos, radio station logos, etc.)

No if you don't.
Now that I think about it, I'm actually not seeing any station logos show up in the cluster; possible it's a bad MOST cable?

You would have codes that. I dont know how obdeleven is laid out ,but i would go through the cluster coding and check everything. every byte and bit. make sure there isnt something checked that shouldnt be and visa versa
