Eurodyne 91 Octane Stage 1.5 Revision 4 last night and Muffler Delete with 3.5 inch Magnaflow tips today. A great weekend for the GTI. No hiccups in either mod. Everything went smoothly.
Eurodyne: Just wow. Im blown away from this tunes ower over the Neuspeed Module. Sure, I feel less safe with this over the module but it totally makes up for it with just how much enjoyment I get out of this tune. The car feels completely different with this tune. With the Neuspeed Module, the car still felt stock but a bit quicker in take off's. I was still able to keep traction most of the time in 1st and 2nd. You dont feel that module kick in until like 4k it seems. With this tune, you immediately feel the power. Throttle response is better as well with the tune. Flooring it in 1st and 2nd gear is just a blast. I can easily say that I am finally happy with the power of the car and I could stop here and be satisifed.
Muffler Delete with Magnaflow tips: To be honest, while getting this done to the car, I wasn't expecting a big difference over stock sound. Louder by a tad and a bit deeper. I mostly did it for bigger tips. Once the exhaust was complete I was surprised. It sounds GREAT! For $250 bucks this really can't be beat. The car sounds similar to the new CTS catback exhaust. Both inside the cabin and out. Maybe a tad throatier, which I like! Cabin noise is AWESOME after the muffler delete. It's so nice to actually hear the engine, even with the radio up loud. I was worried it would sound like a ricer but its the perfect tone for me. (Coming from someone who use to own a 2008 Mustang GT with custom exhaust). It isn't loud enough to piss peopel off though. I went to the shop wanting both muffler and resonator deleted but the guy who works there said to start with muffler first and keep the resonator for now and see what I think. Im glad I took his word. Im happy with JUST the muffler removed. It makes a world of difference. If you go the same route, I suggest you do the same too.
I will be sure to take video tomorrow of the exhaust with a nice camera. Currently I have one video on my instagram of a slow take off. Instagram:mikenickles. Taken with my phone so you dont get a good feel for how loud it really is and the nice deep tone.
