Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2, 245/40/18

Just wanted to let everyone know that the Michelin Cup 2's are really amazing. I was hesitant to get them especially as a 245 vs. a 235 but WOW the grip on these in dry weather is unrivaled. My MK7 is a Eurodyne stage 2 and I'm sitting on racingline springs and have 0 rub at all angles and during aggressive driving. I did do the fender bolt delete just to be safe. I was using Michelin Pilot Super Sports prior to my Cup 2's (235/40/18) and was unable to maintain steady grip in 2nd gear. But with the Cup 2's and upgrading to 245's when warm I have grip almost the entire time in 2nd gear. So if you aren't concerned about the lower tread wear rating and you drive in mostly warm weather these are perfect. They do look a bit meatier but I personally like the look. This is for anyone that was looking at doing a similar setup with springs since I couldn't find much about 245 Michelin's anywhere and I decided to just be a test dummy. My rims are Neuspeed RSE10s with the VW centercap (18x8.5)

You're using the Cup 2's for daily driving??? One, they are pricey tires and two, the treadwear is very low so they won't last long as a DD because really, they are only meant for the track.

There are definitely more cost effective options, but I wouldn't worry TOO much about wet conditions.
Just avoid heavy rain and standing water.
However I foresee you buying PS4S once these are cooked lol.

There's a saying just because you can, doesn't mean you should. Not the tire for daily driving for many reasons unless you have more money than brains.

I used Nitto 555R Drag Radials as a summer tire years ago, so why not? 🚗

If drag radials fit on Austins I'd run em. Planning on NT-01s next.

With all that power you have are you considering a Wavetrac so you can use the power? Or at least more of the power.

We run Cup 2’s on our Porsche 718 Cayman track car and they are absolutely phenomenal in the dry. On a road course it took us a while to dial in the pressures. Once they get a pound above our optimum pressure they get super greasy. And forget about wet driving. I had them out around Sebring in the rain and it was literally like ice skating

I like the rounded shape of the sidewall with these. Strong motorsports vibe.
